Last term we took the big step in launching a Squirrel section at our group. We are proud to share with you that our first group of Squirrels have now been invested.

🐿️ Only a few days to go… our brand new Squirrel Drey at Ascension Scouts is nearly ready to open!

The team has been putting the finishing touches on activities, games, and all the little details that will make our very first Squirrel session something special. We can’t wait to welcome our newest (and smallest!) members as they begin their Scouting journey.

🐿️ Our brand new Squirrel Drey launches in just ONE week!

We’re thrilled to be opening our doors to the youngest members of the Scouting family, giving 4–6 year olds the chance to explore, play, learn new skills, and start their Scouting adventure from the very beginning.
Our leaders have been busy planning fun activities, games, and plenty of exciting adventures.

Come join us for a Beetle Drive with Pie and Pea Supper!
Saturday 7th March 2026 at 7pm
The Ascension Church Hall Calvert Road, HU5 5DH

The cost is £7.50 and includes Pie and Pea Supper with tea or coffee.

All money raised will go towards supporting Ascension Scouts

What is a Beetle Drive I hear you ask?
A beetle drive is an old-school fundraising event that involves drawing, socialising and competitive dice rolling. ‘Beetle’ is quite a simple game of rolling dice and drawing a beetle. It is a lively and sociable activity for the whole family to enjoy!

Squirrels are the newest branch of the Scouts family tree; where boys & girls aged 4 to 6 years old can join in too!

This is an age when minds are fizzing, when energy and curiosity levels are sky high, and when little lives are full of wow & wonder.

Good News!
Ascension Scouts is thrilled to announce we are launching a brand new Squirrels Drey! We are launching on Wednesday the 4th March! Running from 5.30pm till 6.30pm.

Squirrels is the youngest section of Scouts, designed for 4 to 6 year olds, helping them grow in confidence through play, creativity and adventure.

Come along and join in the fun!

Scouts will be there running the bottle stall and the hot dog stall! 🌭🍾

It’s nearly Summer!! ☀️

Next Saturday - 14th June - we will be having our annual Summer Fair at the Ascension from 2pm-4pm!!

There will be lots of activities for all ages including a bouncy castle slide, live brass band, stalls to wander around, hot and cold drinks and food!

We will also be having an art exhibition from a local artist Albert Bell! 🎨
This will be a very exciting event and we would love to see you there!! 🤩
