Scouting is an affordable way of providing a range of exciting and adventurous activities for your child. We offer hundreds of activities, as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, staged performance, paragliding, and archery. There’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability. The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

But this week’s trip to Ping Pong Tots in Hull…

We asked our volunteers why they give their time to Scouts.
This is what makes it special.

“I’m Lee.
I’m an Explorer Leader who’s helped out across multiple groups. I love seeing young people reach their full potential and supporting adventures — I'm often found in the kitchen getting food ready at camps and events. What I didn’t expect was how supportive the people around me would be. Some of them are now good friends."

We asked our volunteers why they give their time to Scouts.

The answer came back simple: the experiences, the people, and the chance to do something that really matters.

"I'm Theo,
I've been involved in scouting my entire life, and have loved the endless experience of learning, friendships and experiences, giving me Life skills and amazing adventures. I have completed top awards, such as DofE, an explorer belt and plenty others, and have in the process visited multiple country such as Vietnam, Italy, South Korea and most soon be Andorra. Through my journey, I have not only shaped my future but shaped my past, along with the lives of many young people."
