"Hey pal, I'm not sure if this is something you would post. It's okay if not but if you can, you can use my name so people can get in touch.

In August of last year, a post was shared on Fife jammers about a hamper basket donated to the maternity unit in Kirkcaldy for the first baby boy born on the 24th, in honor of a little boy who was born silent, Oliver Sam Currie. That little boy was my son. Inside that basket was a card with a link to my book, Oliver’s Journey. The post went viral, and the kindness of the community, the book sales, the comments, and the simple act of speaking my son's name meant more to me than I can put into words. In December of that same year, just four months after Oliver’s due date, I was pregnant again with my second son, Roman. Tragically, I lost Roman at 21 weeks and 6 days, and he now rests beside his big brother. When Roman was born, I wanted him to be comfortable in a little cardigan, trousers, and a hat, specifically in a pale green. Because he was a micro preemie, we found that the hospital did not have clothing small enough to fit him properly, and what they did have was limited to white or blue. Roman was dressed in a tiny nappy, a blue hat, and a blue vest, all of which were just a bit too big for him. This experience inspired me to start knitting for micro preemie babies. I’m not an experienced knitter and it takes me some time, so I have decided to share this project and invite everyone to join me. If anyone would like to knit or crochet even just one little item in different colours (pale greens, lemon, pinks etc) in honor of Roman, I would be so grateful. I am planning to donate these items to the maternity ward on August 13th, which would have been Roman's due date. I will personally collect everything, and each item will be packaged with the knitter's name included, just like the photo attached to this post. If you would like to get involved or have any questions, please reach out to me. Lots of love🩵💚

For sizing reference, Roman was 30cm long and his head was 18.5cm."
