DIAS Domestic Violence Centre

DIAS Domestic Violence Centre DIAS is a registered charity that supports any person affected by domestic abuse. YOU’RE NOT ALONE!

DIAS is a registered charity that supports any person harmed by domestic violence and abuse. We are a specialist provider of support, advice, counselling and floating support for the entire Wigan and Leigh Borough. At DIAS we know how hard it can be to recognise that domestic violence is happening and we also know how hard it can be to find the right help and support at the right time. At DIAS we

will advise you of the choices available to you and will work with you to empower and support you while you decide what is best for you and for your family. Remember that what has happened to you is not your fault; you have every right to live your life with respect and without fear, violence or abuse. All forms of domestic abuse – psychological, financial, emotional and physical – come from the abuser’s desire for power and control over an intimate partner or other family members. Domestic violence is repetitive and life-threatening, it tends to worsen over time and it destroys the lives of those affected.

☕💚💙

Today DIAS attended the "Chill and Chat" coffee morning at Leigh C.E. Primary School to raise awareness of our service. We provide a range of specialist support services for adults, children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

It was a lovely morning, meeting families, chatting with other professionals, and sharing information about the support available for anyone affected by domestic abuse, across the borough. We were particularly pleased to catch up with our colleagues from the Well Women Centre Leigh 🧡💚💜 Since October 2020, DIAS has been commissioned by Wigan Council to deliver WBDAS – Wigan Borough Domestic Abuse Service, a joint partnership between DIAS Domestic Violence Centre and the Well Women Centre, Leigh.

Events like these are a great opportunity to strengthen community connections, promote partnership working, and ensure that those who need support know where to turn.
A big thank you to Leigh CE Primary School for hosting such a welcoming event and to everyone who took the time to stop by and speak with us.

A lovely morning volunteering in Wigan! 💚💙

On Friday, members of the DIAS Domestic Abuse Service team spent a wonderful morning volunteering at the Rebuild with Hope store in Wigan,

organising clothing and shoes.👕👟
We also visited their amazing Community Hub, where we were made to feel right at home and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee! ☕✨It was fantastic to meet some of their amazing team and gain more of an insight into the incredible work they do.

Thank you to everyone at Rebuild with Hope for your hospitality and for everything you do for our community! 🧡

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our relaxed drop-in session at Book Cycle Beech Hill yesterday. It was lovely to welcome both families and professionals to meet the team, from DIAS Domestic Abuse Service, share conversations, and talk about the support we offer within the community.
These sessions are all about creating a safe, welcoming space to connect, ask questions, and raise awareness — and we truly appreciate everyone who took the time to come and see us. 💚💙

Thank you so much to Book-Cycle Beech Hill for hosting us and supporting the work we do. A huge thank you to our charity partners Fur Clemt, The Brick and Middleton & Wood Funeral Directors for their generous donations, we are incredibly grateful to you all.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.
