The Kimpton Players

The Players are a volunteer amateur dramatics society and charity based in Hertfordshire. We have also recorded some radio plays. pantomimes.

We are a thriving amateur dramatic group based in Kimpton Village in North Hertfordshire. The Kimpton Players is a registered charity and since its inception in 1943 has raised many thousands of pounds for local and national groups and charities. We aim to put on three productions each year – Old Time Music Hall in February/March, a play in June and either a play or a pantomime in November/Decembe

r. We have an energetic youth section, the Junior Kimpton Players (JKP), who produce their own shows and participate in some of the other productions where appropriate e.g. We have our own building, the Playhouse, situated in the grounds of Kimpton Memorial Hall. The Playhouse is used for rehearsals, meetings and some of our social events, the Memorial Hall is used for all our productions. We are always looking for new members of all ages from 11 years upwards with a wide variety of skills, to cover all aspects of putting on a show from acting and stage management to painting scenery and making the tea. This week we officially said goodbye to our beloved Playhouse.

With nearly 60 years worth of memories inside those walls, it was sad to get see our home finally go.

However, we are excited with plans really ramping up for our final fundraising push to build our new Playhouse.

So watch this space for news of our new building, that will provide a foundation for the future, with plans for a new Junior Players and more coming your way.

The Kimpton Players are looking for new faces to join the cast (and backstage team!) for this year’s spectacular pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.

Whether you’ve been on stage for years or have always wanted to give it a go, we’d love to meet you. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and sense of fun!

Are you a Sleeping Beauty in disguise? 💤

If you have ever fancied a go at acting, singing, dancing, or all of these, here’s your chance.

Join The Kimpton Players for open auditions for this year’s Panto Sleeping Beauty.

The Players audition process is very laid back, no pressure to dance or sing, or to prepare anything before the night. Just turn up and read for the part you fancy in the night.
