Clint Penfold has completed the first part of his swimming challenge to raise funds for Borden church.

Clint Penfold is taking on an incredible challenge to help preserve one of Borden’s most treasured landmarks, and we’d love your support.

This year, Clint will be completing not one, but two demanding swimming events. A 2-mile swim at Swim Serpentine in Hyde Park on 12 September, followed by a 5km marathon swim at the London Aquatics Centre on 1 November, all to raise money to help mend the gates at St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Borden.

For more than 800 years, our Grade I listed church has been at the heart of the village, celebrating life’s biggest moments, providing comfort in difficult times, and serving generations of our community. Keeping such a historic building in good condition takes ongoing care, and every donation will help protect it for the future.

Clint is hoping to raise at least £1,000 towards this important project. If you’re able to support him, no matter how big or small your donation, it would make a real difference.

Despite the near constant rain, we managed to raise an amazing £2841!
This is all thanks to all you amazing people who turned up, danced in the rain, and even bought food and ice cream! 🌧️
We are so thankful for all of our supporters and all the wonderful businesses who donated some incredible raffle prizes!

Thank you to our fabulous bands, Project F, Taking Care of Vegas and Ethan Rocca 🎶🎵 You really brought the sun to our rainy Saturday! ☀️

The rain never ended, but neither did the dancing! 💃🏻 🌧️

Thank you to everyone who attended, danced in the rain, bought food, drink and ice cream and had a great time! We couldn’t do it without all of you!

All our bands and singers were amazing, the atmosphere you all created made the rain disappear! 🎶🎵

Once we have had a chance to add everything up we will let you know how much we raised! 💰
