We, the committee of Abbeyfield Yarmouth Society Ltd (Registered Charity number 200719), hope that you will find the information here of use. If you have any other questions, we shall be very pleased to answer them. The Abbeyfield House in Yarmouth is called ‘The Coach House’ and has been converted to
provide family style accommodation for ten older people in an atmosphere of care, companionship
and support. The House was opened in March 1998 and has been arranged so that each resident has their own personal and secure room to rent. Our ensuite rooms are warm, carpeted, decorated and are furnished with each resident’s personal possessions e.g. There is a stair lift to give access to the first floor bedrooms. We have a beautiful garden, with easy access, seating areas outside and a garden room. Our conservatory is light, airy and comfortable. We also have a resident’s lounge and library. The Coach House provides very sheltered
housing for older people with low dependency. Residents are expected to look after themselves and their rooms. The Housekeeper provides cooked lunches and lighter cooked evening meals in our dining room. Residents provide their own breakfast and any other snacks. There are few House rules for residents other than those of common courtesy - you are free to come and go and receive visitors. In-house
activities and outings are organised regularly. Before you make up your mind about becoming a resident with us why not be our guest in our well appointed guest room? This would give you the chance to get a complete experience of The Coach House, our facilities, talk to existing residents and it could make any subsequent move easier. Why not book into our guest room for one or 2 weeks so that you can experience our high standards of care, cooked meals and companionship. We benefit from a great location in our beautiful village of Yarmouth, just yards from the sea! To arrange a guest room stay, rest or holiday, then please contact The Coach House and our Secretary will be delighted to answer any questions you may have! The Coach House is managed by a group of motivated Trustees and volunteers, whose role it is to assist the Housekeeper, safeguard our residents, finances and employ well trained staff. We also maintain the buildings, equipment and garden. Would you like to volunteer? If ‘Yes’ please do contact The Coach House. Abbeyfield Yarmouth Society Ltd is
financially independent and a registered Charity. We rely on donations and
legacies made in Wills. Would you like to help us continue to provide sheltered housing for older people in Yarmouth? If ‘Yes’, thank-you and please contact The Coach House, who will arrange for an appropriate person to meet and discuss your wishes.
