Welcome to the ‘Small Isles’ – a collection of arguably some of the most spectacular and fascinating landscapes and histories to be found anywhere in the world. Reached by the famed ‘Road to the Isles ‘ nestling in the lee of the west coast, Eigg, Muck, Rum and Canna each boast a plethora of wild species of feathered fowls, flora and habitats to catch your breath and beasts that roar their might

through hills and glens long lost to domestication and human hands. Take this passport and open your senses to what they have to share.

There are countless ways to experience the Isle of Eigg, and many of the best involve slowing down, getting outdoors & learning from the people who know the island best.

Join the Scottish Wildlife Trust Ranger on a guided nature walk or head out with The Isle of Eigg Guiding Co. to discover hidden corners, hear local stories and explore beyond the well-trodden paths.

Hire an e-bike, bike or kayak from Eigg Adventures || E-bike, Bike and Kayak Hire and explore at your own pace. Owner Owain is also a talented photographer & is always happy to recommend some of the island's best viewpoints & golden hour spots.

The Isle of Eigg Guiding Co. offers paddleboarding, snorkelling & bushcraft experiences, with equipment hire available for both adults and children.

Creative Nature Retreats combine walking, foraging and creativity through immersive, all-inclusive retreats inspired by the island's landscapes.

Or why not see Eigg from the sea? Selkie Explorers offers unforgettable sailing holidays around Eigg, the Small Isles, St Kilda and Scotland's spectacular west coast, with specialist walking, yoga and geology voyages alongside their classic explorer trips.

Whether you're here for a day or a week, there's no shortage of ways to discover the island from a different perspective.

Here, the best summer days are the simplest - paddle boarding with friends followed by a BBQ on the beach.

*Always check the forecast and only paddle within your abilities. The west coast is beautiful, but conditions can change quickly.

We'll be the first to tell you that it doesn't always look like this. But that's part of the appeal. The weather sweeps in and out. The big skies change by the hour. The sea is a constantly moving canvas.
Living here means being tuned into the elements. You adapt to the conditions appreciating the beauty in each - the still days, the wild days, the clear skies, the low cloud. When a day like this comes, after a period of stormy weather, you appreciate it all the more.

On the Small Isles, the weather gets the final say. Strong winds, rough seas and Atlantic weather can change plans quickly here. That’s true for the people who live on the islands and for the people visiting too.

It can mean staying an extra night unexpectedly.
Waiting a few more hours in the harbour. Rearranging plans. Watching the forecast more closely than you normally would.
