Well, if this isn't an improvement!

Greener Ipswich has been hard at work on the remaining flower beds at Tower Street. Having removed large sections of Ivy and its labyrinth of roots, we have now planted a beautiful arrangement of Flora!

Choisya Dewitteana and its delightful white dazzle, Gracillimus with its tall and airy sway and Nandina Domestica and its beautiful reds will all pop fantastically with the Lavender!

We have also planted some amazing surprises for you all with the likes of Ceanothus and its elegant blossom, a Cotinus 'Grace' shrub with its deep reds, and the vibrant Escallonia rubra 'Crimson Spire' (can you guess what colour it is?)!

With so many new additions, Tower Street truly reveals the Greener Ipswich touch, and we hope each and every one of you gets to enjoy it!

Don't forget, if you'd like to get involved with volunteering or if you want to hire our team, for prices guaranteed to be lower than the competition, then you can get in touch with us on IG, FaceBook, our website, or our email: [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hello Ipswich!

We are proud to have made a HUGE improvement to the Berners Street corner, with all of our planters fully stocked, and ready to pop with colour!

In the two large planters we have Bergenia, Nepeta, Rudbeckia and more, teasing us, as we await their blossom. The bright yellows, purples, reds, and pinks, will burst with life as they mingle amongst the rest of our chosen plants. The multi-stemmed trees in the centre of the planters are amelanchier lamarckii. They will be in bloom any day now. Later, there will be dark red berries and superb autumn leaf colour.

In the collection of smaller planters we have a selection of Lavender, Cistus, Verbena, and Pennisetum, which will grow boldly, and beautifully, with striking comparisons between the assortment of tones.

Also, we aren't finished yet!

Greener Ipswich will return soon to finish the prepped bed closer to the road, with potential for more work on the opposite side of Berners Street, so, stay tuned for that!

All of this wouldn't be possible without the help of our superstar team of volunteers! All of you have done such a marvellous job; you are each appreciated!

The community spirit our projects establish, and enhance, is one of the many reasons we do what we do, and seeing such a keen interest from local establishments to get involved with watering and maintaining our planters brings everyone here at Greener Ipswich so much joy. It truly is a pleasure for each and every one of us to help serve our shared community.

With several projects ongoing, and more to come, don't forget to "like" and "follow" us to keep updated on all things Green and all things Ipswich!

And if you'd like to get involved as a volunteer, or if you would like to discuss the potential to hire our team, then do make sure to reach out to us via our social media or website, or simply drop us an email at [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

Hello All!

Following the successful launch we had over at Tower Street, work has begun at two other sites in Ipswich.

You'll find us outside the old crown court, by the New Wolsey Theatre, having removed much of the weeds and relocated the concrete planters, we will return shortly to spruce up this section of land with some delightful Flora, and a much needed dash of colour!

We can also be found over at the Berners Street corner of the Norwich Road roundabout. Our wonderful volunteers have done an amazing job removing weeds and prepping the land for planting! We will be back shortly to continue giving this space the Greener Ipswich touch!

If you would like to get involved with our volunteer team, or if you would like to seek out hiring us to rejuvenate any areas near you, then do make sure to contact us at: [email protected] or message us directly and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

And don't forget to visit http://greeneripswich.org.uk/ for everything you need to know about Greener Ipswich and our goals!

Hello All!

We at Greener Ipswich CIC are happy to announce that we have just finished our official launch project!

Located at the lower end of Tower Street, where Tower Street meets Tavern Street, you'll find a beautiful row of planters, put together by an amazing team of volunteers and professionals.

The planters themselves were made, and installed, by the 'Men's Shed', a great group of guys who are very much community driven. This particular project was overseen by Dr. Robert Brooks, who ensured the planters were of the highest quality, and made to last! If you like the sound of this, maybe you'll feel like checking out Eden-Rose Coppice, a charity founded, and managed, by Rob.
You can find them here:

The Trees and Plants were sourced by the wonderful Mia Witham, a hands-on professional. Mia has designed the layout of the various Flora present in our new planters, and has ensured everything is in place herself. If you'd like to know more about Mia then you can find her website here :

Taking care of the heavy lifting, and helping with all of the planting, were our truly marvellous team of volunteers!

As a non-profit organisation, Greener Ipswich prides itself on making a genuine change to people's lives by revitalising areas, and we couldn't do it if it wasn't for our team of volunteers!

And for all this fantastic news, this is only the beginning!

Greener Ipswich CIC has already been awarded two other areas in Ipswich which are in dire need of some TLC.

Stay tuned for those!

We at Greener Ipswich would also like to thank the organisations that helped us to achieve such an excellent start to our vision for a more vibrant, and greener, Ipswich. Without Ipswich Minster, The Ipswich Institute, and the New Wolsey Theatre, we wouldn't be able to accomplish so much in so little time. Thank you!

We would also like to thank those at Oakley Turf for all of our top soil needs!

It is truly a blessing to be a part of such a meaningful project, bringing nature back into our city, and it's a project you can get involved with too!

We are actively seeking volunteers, with varying degrees of availability, so that we can continue to grow our small, but dedicated, team into a small army, ready to tame the wilds of Ipswich!

If you are interested in volunteering then please do comment below, or send us an email at [email protected] and we will get back to you as quickly as we can!

Because none of this would be possible without the representatives from Suffolk University, Ipswich Central, Associated British Ports (ABP), and Suffolk Food Hall, to name a few.

Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this transformation!

And thank you to everyone who will join us along the way, even if it's only for a short stay!

Stay tuned, Ipswich is about to get a whole lot Greener!
