Inverness Civic Trust We care about Inverness The Trust considers that Inverness has a unique quality as the Capital of the Highlands.

The Inverness Civic Trust is an independent voluntary body made up of citizens who have an interest in both conserving and enhancing the general environment of the City. It seeks to preserve and enhance that unique quality by promoting and encouraging the conservation of our built heritage and the enhancement of the environment. The Trust comments, both constructively and critcally on attempts to change the built heritage of the City, particularly in relation to its Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas. WE ARE ALWAYS WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS INTO OUR GROUP. Members come from all walks of life, but we share one common goal, to care for the future of Inverness.

Peacefully at home on 1st October 2026, Ranald MacGregor Smith, aged 78 years. Beloved husband of Joanna, adored dad of Victoria, dear father in law of Matty, doting papa to Kirsty and Lillian. A celebration of Ranald’s life will take place on Friday 23rd October at 2pm in the Funeral Home of John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness to which all are welcome to attend. Please wear colour. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Ranald for Highland Hospice Sunflower Home Care and Marie Curie can be given at the ceremony. Car parking available at the Funeral Home.

no. 440 features the gable end of a ruined building, possibly a church, but it was taken c1890s so may be much changed now. If you recognise it, please get in touch. Thank you
