SMSA Development Officer Ross Murray recently visited the Cromarty Firth Mens Shed. A highlight was watching the men hard at work building an impressive staircase to provide safer access to the Shed’s attic space.
As always, the Shed was a hive of activity: the laser cutter was in action producing poppies for the local memorial garden and plaques for benches, while the woodworking team were crafting planters and mink traps. Preparations are also well underway for the Christmas fair, and the Shed has even been approached by local skiffers to create name plates for their boats.
Alongside the buzz of activity, Ross sat down with members to chat through Shedwise, funding opportunities, solar panels, Morrison Construction links, constitutions and good governance – ensuring the Shed is not only busy but also building for a sustainable future.
