Game week 5

💥💥Pilgrims u8s vs Grimsby Boro Titans u9s💥💥

We know theres know easy games in the league we play at and to get joy out the game the boys are going to be at there best.

We was away at Grimsby Boro on the 3G which really suits our boys as they love to get the ball down and play football. Today they was fast out the block pressing the Boro team back in there own half but Boro defended well and there Keeper was on fine form.

We eventually got the goal we deserved and kept going and found the net a few more times. We scored some good team goals and some good individual goals. Fair play to Grimsby Boro who finished the game strong and scored some good goals them selfs.

PMOTM - Ollie - worked his socks off, pressed well scored some good goals and made some good passes.

MOTM - Jaxon - our number 1, he controlled his area like a prime Neuer. Was comfortable on the ball and talked to the boys through out game

💥 Friendly game today 💥

Pilgrims Vs Discoveries Lions 🦁

After our original opponents pulled out 👀. We welcomed the 3rd Discoveries team to the theatre of Roval Drive in 4 weeks.

We know again it was a harder game for the boys playing the Lions, with the good work there coaches have put into the boys. We always have a good competitive game with them and it’s 50/50 and who take there chances.

The pilgrims were on good form and made the Lions keeper pull of some good saves in the early stages of the game. After a good run from Leyts he found the top corner. We eventually got a foot hold on the game and played some good football.

Both keepers mate good saves to keep the score down, but our good football kept us on top.

We thank the Discoveries Lions for stepping in last minute and wish them the best for the rest of the season.

Game week 4

💥💥Crofts trophy event 💥💥

So today sees the young pilgrims down at Bradley Pitches for the trophy event to see if we will be taking part in the Champions League or the Europa League with the top 2 team from each group competing for the Champions league trophy.

As most football fans know we play in the top league and the year above pushing the boys to the absolute limit. Both groups were stacked with talented and any teams that qualified for the champions league would have to be at there best.

We are so blessed to have such a talented squad. 1st two game the boys turned up and won comfortably. The 3rd game the boys took there eye of the ball, but luckily we’re blessed with a number 1 and he stepped up with MOTM performance. The last game after a pet talk and asking the boys to step up and show us there best, they did. An all action performance sees us top the group.

PMOTM - Leyton, in the last game showed us want he is about. 5 minute hat trick and looked unplayable.

MOTM - Jaxon, when the boys needed there number 1 his stood up and was counted.

The boys will now compete in the champions league with all the best teams exactly were they should be.

We only look up not down 👀

Match day 3

💥💥 Pilgrims Vs New Boys 💥💥

Match day 3 we welcomed Discoveries New Boys to Roval Drive.

During the game it was about the Pilgrim players not giving up and showing real grit and determination as the New Boys are a well drilled and disciplined side.

New boys started quick and finding the back of the net a few times. What was pleasing for us is that the boys showed great heart and never given up. It was a real test of character and the boys showed they are up for a challenge.

We chipped in with a few goals ourselves which shows we kept going to the end of the games.

PMOTM - George, great attitude played with confidence and kept trying to do the right stuff.

MOTM - Rory, another player who kept going. Won some big tackles and was unlucky not to score at the end.

Match day 2

💥💥Pilgrims u8s vs Galacticos u9💥💥

We know what a challenge this game was going to be for the boys. Galacticos are a good well organised side so the Pilgrims had to be at there best.

For most of the game it was an even contest with both sides creating chances, both side battling hard for possession and both side putting in good tackles and working hard.

It took a special free kick from Galacticos to break the deadlock lock, which followed both a well worked team goal from them.

The Pilgrims never gave up and kept pushing for a goal but it just wasn’t there day. Up against a fantastic goalkeeper and some wasteful chances.

We wish Galacticos all the best this season and will come back stronger next week.

Man of the matches were roles reversed from last week.

PMOTM - Arthur, absolute man mountain for us again.

MOTM - Hamzah, full of energy all game and a constant threat.

💥💥Opening day of the season 💥💥

The pilgrims sure know how to open a campaign.

Today we welcomed Catenaccio u9s down to Roval drive for our opener, and what a game it was.

The young pilgrims were fast out the traps and first to every ball, never giving Catenaccio any time on the ball. We asked them to work hard and to press players off and on the ball and they all did that real.

Off the ball the boys worked there socks off and we looked solid with Arthur putting in a MOTM performance and Jaxon was as composed as ever.

It really was a joy to watch today and it was a hard one to pick MOTM.

Parents MOTM - Hamzah. Who was outstanding and a handful for any defence, he also picked up the match ball.

MOTM - Arthur. He was like John Stones today solid in the tackle and his vision from playing out from the back was awesome.
