We’re running short on some items, could you help?

Thank you so much for all the ongoing support, we couldn’t do what we do without you.

We’re now looking for some donations of some specific bits, as some gaps are starting to emerge in our store room. If you have any of the following please do send us as message:

- Moses baskets, we currently do not have enough to cover the nearly 30 referrals sitting on our system. These baskets can be brand new, or second hand. If the basket is second hand please note that we’re unable to accept second hand mattresses. The basket must be in good condition with handles intact, no leaning and have a stain free cover/lining. If it has a stand great, but it isn’t essential.

- Moses basket fitted sheets

- Small soft baby toys: these must be suitable from birth to the age of 6 months. These can be small newborn teddies, comforters, soft activity toys, soft books etc.

- Scratch mittens

- Newborn and up to 1 month boys and girls clothing - tops and bottoms

- Newborn and 0-3 months neutral clothing

- Specific maternity and breast pads

We accept second hand clothing/bedding as well as new, we use ask that all items are stain free with lots of life left in them. All toiletries must be brand new/unopened.

All donations are required to be dropped at our base at Monks Yard (TA19 9PY) but all drop offs need an appointment so please do not just turn up. Send us a message if you’d like to arrange a drop off.

An exciting day for Baby Basics UK and Baby Basics Sheffield 💙

Baby Basics UK and Baby Basics Sheffield were honoured to be visited by HRH The Princess Royal today.
Her Royal Highness spent time talking to staff and volunteers about the work we do to support families in Sheffield and across the UK.
Baby Basics Centres support 1 in 120 babies born in the UK with the supply of a Moses basket starter pack.
The Princess Royal also met Christopher Money, Co-Founder of Kit & Kin who have been supporting us by supplying nappies since 2020.
Today’s visit shone a light on the tireless work we do to support children and families to give them the essentials they need as they start their parenting journey.

Huge congratulations to Bryony on completing an incredible 5k swim yesterday! 🏊‍♀️👏
She powered through 200 lengths in 1 hour 44 minutes in support of Baby Basics, the fantastic charity based at Monks Yard near Ilminster.

Baby Basics provides vital support to families with newborns and young children at a time when it matters most.

After a steady start to the year we now have some gaps in our supplies and so we’re after some specific items.

If you’re able to help with donating any of the following please do get in touch…

- Moses Baskets
- Moses basket fitted sheets
- Baby baths (must be self contained, no support seats)
- Newborn, 0-3 months and 3-6 months girls clothing; including babygrows and vests, tops, bottoms and coats.
- Baby lotion

We are now closed for our Christmas break, re-opening on Wednesday 7th January.

We are unable to take in any donations during this time, or respond to any messages.

Thank you so much for all your support in 2025, we’ve had our busiest year to date, responding to over 260 referrals, and helping so many new mums and their babies. Whilst it’s never a nice feeling to know so many people need that extra helping hand, we do count it a privilege to be able to stand in the gap and support families with such beautiful starter packs. No family should be faced with a reality of not being able to have the most basic of items for themselves and their newborn, and so it’s amazing that we get to help our community in this way.

Thank you all for your generosity and kindness, without you, we couldn’t do what we do.

Here’s to helping more families together in 2026.

We’ve had our busiest month ever and so our stocks are pretty depleted of some items. We’re currently in need of the following:

- 0-6 months girls clothes, including babygrows, vests, tops, bottoms and coats. We need newborn, 0-3 and 3-6 month sizes!
- Baby towels (stain free please)
- First size baby socks
- Scratch mittens
- Small chocolate treats for mum
- Moses size blankets (knitted, cellular or fleece accepted)
- Moses basket fitted sheets
- Moses baskets

We’re also in need of toiletry items, particularly the following:
- size 1 nappies
- Baby shampoo
- baby lotion
- shampoo and conditioner for mum
- maternity and breast pads for mum
