The Yorkshire regional heats of the Cranmer Awards will take place at St Mary's Bramall Lane, Sheffield.

How to record your video
The video can be taken by camera or mobile phone and must be:

Landscape
Show you walking to the front of the room / audience
Show yourself from head to waist to see your body language.
You should not stand behind a desk or lectern
Show you composing yourself before reading your chosen passage(s)
Pause, to show you have finished, before walking out of view
Please only make one recording of your performance. Do not edit the recording in any way.

Upload your video to any online storage that can be accessed by others. e.g. YouTube, GDrive, iCloud, Dropbox or OneDrive etc. Then copy and paste the link to it in the form below. You should leave your video file online until advised that the heat has taken place.

Entries must be submitted no later than noon on Thursday 30 November. Winners will be announced online on Saturday 16 December.

Candidates chosen for the final will be asked to attend in person.

Please note that the ‘demo’ featured in the video is just for guidance. Your entry must run the required three to five minutes in duration.

Announcing the winner of the Junior Section of the Yorkshire heats ...
NELSON ADEWALE of the Bishop Young CE Academy in Leeds.
Nelson chose the Readings for the Second Sunday after Epiphany. His reading style was clear and engaging and he held the interest of the listeners really well.
Nelson was one of 18 young people who came to Ilkley on Saturday 14 October to participate in the Yorkshire heat of the Cranmer Awards, held at Saint Margaret's Parish Church, Ilkley.
Nelson said: 'It was a new and different experience because I have never spoken to a large audience before. I was nervous in the beginning but I became braver throughout. I am very happy and proud that I won and I am very much looking forward to going to London as I have never been.'
Nelson will now move forward to participate in the national final at Hampton Court Palace on Saturday 24 February 2024.

What a fantastic day we have had!!
We welcomed 18 of the loveliest young people as participants in the Yorkshire heats from St Mary's Church, Bramall Lane, Bishop Young C of E Academy and St Margaret's Parish Church, Ilkley. It was a real joy to listen to each of them reading aloud passges from the Book of Common Prayer.

It's today! **squeak!**
Today, St Margaret's Parish Church, Ilkley will offer a very warm welcome to all the young people taking part in the first ever Yorkshire heat of the Cranmer Awards. Please pray for them, that they will enjoy the experience and have a happy time in Ilkley.
We are welcoming visitors from St Mary's Church, Bramall Lane, Bishop Young C of E Academy and St Margaret's Parish Church, Ilkley - we can't wait to meet you all.

The National Final will take place on Saturday 24 February at Hampton Court.

Hampton Court Palace is the venue for the 2024 finals of the Cranmer Awards. This prestigious public speaking event is open to young people from all backgrounds and faiths aged 11-18.
