Friends Of Erewash Museum

We are here to help support Erewash Museum with events and volunteerism.

Come on a trip back to 1981, to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Friends of Erewash Museum.

Join us for one day only on SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER, 10.am-4:00pm in the Hayloft. FREE TO ENTER.

We will be showing a pop-up display of information boards from years gone by, showing the work of the Friends in the early years of the life of Erewash Museum. Marvel at some of the pioneering work done by volunteers in building the fabric and the philosophy of the Museum, hands-on building and decoration, all manner of fun events, and some serious dressing-up options!.

If you were one of the early volunteer team, drop in and see if your photo is on display, and reminisce about those hectic pioneering days.

STEAMPUNK 2026 at Erewash Museum- what a great success!!

We were worried overnight that the event would be washed out, but we moved indoors and the rain held off anyway. Great atmosphere, with a lovely group of visitors having the time of their lives. As usual, the costumes were amazing (see photos). The Friends ran the ever-popular "Pin the Medal" event and raffled a "Steampunk Kitty" tee shirt.

All-in-all, we raised over £125 to go towards future Museum projects.

Thanks to all the volunteers, the Erewash Museum staff, the stall-holders and to Michael Crane, who allowed us to use the "Pin the Medal" game.

Can't wait for Steampunk 2027!!
