🚨 **RED HEAT HEALTH ALERT** 🚨
A **Red Heat Health Alert** – the highest level – is in place from **9am Wednesday 24 June to 9pm Thursday 25 June**. ☀️🔥
This rare alert means extreme heat could affect **everyone**, not just those who are usually more vulnerable.
💡 **Stay safe in the heat:**
💧 Drink plenty of water and carry a bottle when you're out, some of our parks have water refill stations
🚗 Never leave children, vulnerable adults or pets in a parked vehicle.
🧴 Wear sunscreen, a hat and seek shade where possible.
⏰ Avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm.
🏃 Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
🏊 **Open Water Safety**
❌ Swimming is not permitted in any Redbridge lakes.
⚠️ Open water can be dangerous due to hidden hazards, strong currents and cold temperatures.
🚫 No BBQs, including disposable BBQs are allowed.
🚭 Dispose of cigarette butts safely.
🗑️ Take your rubbish home or use the bins provided.
🔥 Dry grass can catch fire easily – avoid naked flames.
