Last week, some of us had the honour of being invited to take part in our Town Council Youth Forum. We met with The Rt Worshipful Mayor of Hythe, Cllr Stephen Bailey and several of our town Councillors, along with other Year 5 pupils from local primary schools in our area.

During the session, we had the opportunity to share our thoughts and opinions about our town, including what we like about it and what we think could be improved. It was really interesting to hear ideas from children from different schools and to see how many of our thoughts were similar.

We also took part in discussions with our local Community Warden and a representative from the youth club. They talked to us about their roles in the community and how they help support young people. We were able to ask questions and learn more about how we can be involved and make a positive difference.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable and valuable experience, and we felt proud to represent our school and share our ideas about the future of our town.

This year, the Hythe Bay Rotakids are truly honoured to have been invited to lay a wreath on Remembrance Day, on behalf of Rotakids everywhere.

It’s a moment of pride and reflection for our young members as they pay their respects to those who gave so much for our freedom. Their participation reminds us that the spirit of remembrance lives on through the next generation — carrying forward Rotary’s values of peace, service, and hope.

On Friday 17th October at 3.15pm, we will be putting on our aprons and rolling up our sleeves to support Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day with a special cake sale here at Hythe Bay School. 🍰💜

we aim to raise both funds and awareness for DLD, a condition that affects 1 in 14 children – that’s about two in every classroom. Despite being common, DLD is often overlooked, and children with the condition can face challenges with learning, friendships, and confidence.

Through our cake sale, we hope to spread the word that with the right support, children with DLD can thrive.

Wow! We’ve got more RotaKids than we can count this year at Hythe Bay Church of England School – so many we might need a bigger register! 📚✏️

The presidential and council speeches are done, the votes have been counted (no recounts needed… phew!), and now the fun really starts. 🎉

Time to get stuck into the best bits of being a RotaKid – helping others, making friends, and maybe even sneaking in a biscuit or two along the way. 🍪😉

Today, in his last presidential duty at the head of our RotaKids Club, President Alex proudly presented a cheque to the RNLI at Littlestone to support the tireless and dedicated work they do.

The funds were raised by the RotaKids through a variety of events over the past six months – a fantastic achievement and a wonderful way to end Alex’s term as president.

A big thank you to Alex for his leadership and to the RNLI for their ongoing service to our community.

Today we spent the day at The Big Cat Sanctuary.

What a brilliant day we have had, we cannot thank them enough for the invitation and private tour, we really did feel like royalty.
