August round up! The fact that I haven’t posted on the grid in a while says a lot about how busy this month has been. Lots of juggling — some big orders to get out of the kitchen alongside new bakes inspired by a short trip to Northern Spain.

My favourite bake of the month has to be this burnt Basque cheesecake — it’s on the website if you fancy trying one 😉

This week in pictures 📸 When I tell you it’s been the wildest week yet in the cake kitchen, I am NOT exaggerating! We onboarded 2 brand new wholesale customers, restocked every single one of our existing wholesale accounts (some more than once 🤣), delivered cakes for a wedding, AND hand-packed 9 crates of cookies — 1,500 of them, individually weighed, baked, stuffed, topped, packaged and labelled by hand! Our egg order just went up by a third, and honestly, every coffee break this week has been earned in blood, sweat and buttercream ☕

Thank you so much to every single one of our customers, old and new, for trusting us with your orders this week. We couldn’t do it without you! 💛!

We love a corporate cupcake order — and this one didn’t disappoint. Just look at that red buttercream ❤️

We’ve recently invested in our own edible ink printer, opening up endless personalisation possibilities for cupcakes, biscuits, and cookies. These printed wafer discs even work beautifully on cocktails — branding in a glass, anyone? 🍸

Happy Thursday! It’s been such busy week here - busy enough that we’ve started looking into the possibility of a bigger kitchen down the line. Still probably some way off, but nice to even be able to consider it.

The heat has definitely changed how we work. Even with good fridge and freezer space, we’ve had to be a bit more thoughtful about timing and workflow to keep everything right.

We’ve made a Kiddies Cookie Range — smaller cookies, kept simple. No fancy fillings, just the good stuff:

What a week it’s been! ☀️

The heat has definitely kept us on our toes in the kitchen, meaning we’ve had to be a little more strategic with our baking schedules and deliveries. While it’s been challenging, it’s reminded me why I love what we’ve built. The relationships we’ve created with our customers mean that when things get tough, we can work together to find the best solution for everyone. ❤️

Despite the soaring temperatures, we’ve delivered some incredible cakes this week, including beautiful cupcakes for the 2023 cohort at – congratulations to everyone involved! 🎉

We’ve also had some exciting conversations with potential new customers and made our very first delivery to East Boldre Community Stores and Post Office. Thank you for the warm welcome – we’re looking forward to many more!

And finally... our new box lids have arrived, and we’re completely in love with them! 🤎 A huge thank you to for bringing our vision to life with such an amazing design.

Now it’s back to the kitchen—there’s still plenty more baking to do! 🍫✨

A day in the life: Late-night baking, early-morning deliveries, and a Tuesday spent deep cleaning (yes, I’m one of those people who genuinely loves cleaning 🧼😂).
A few quick updates for you lovely lot:
1️⃣ Next batch of bakes lands at Howley Coffee Co tomorrow morning! 🥐
2️⃣ Rumor has it the sun is returning! ☀️ Since sunshine and cakes aren’t usually best friends, next week might be a quiet one for orders.
3️⃣ ☕️ SECRET MENU: We’ve been experimenting with homemade syrups for coffee/matcha and velvety cold foams. They aren’t on the website yet, but if you want to try them, slide into our DMs! 👇
