What a lovely evening we had last night with our fascinating talk on Gardens for Birds. It was both inspiring and practical, with so many ideas on how we can make our gardens welcoming havens for wildlife , from planting for year-round food to creating safe shelter and fresh water.
Standing at the Hurst Green train station this morning listening to the birdsong, I’m sure I could recognise a few more calls than I could before. It’s amazing how quickly you start to tune in once someone has opened your ears to it. I suspect many of us are looking at our gardens a little differently today.
As always, we were well supplied with homemade cakes and biscuits, and there was plenty of chatter and laughter. It was especially lovely to welcome some wonderful guests, we do hope you enjoyed the evening and that we’ll see you again very soon.
If you’re curious about joining us, whether you’re green-fingered or simply enjoy good company, you would be very warmly welcomed at one of our future meetings. There’s always something new to learn, good conversation to be had and, of course, cake and biscuits!
