Due to the forecasted rain and wind this Saturday, we have postponed our International Bat Night guided walk at Woodwalton Fen. The new date is Saturday 5th September. We are currently contacting everyone who had booked and transferring tickets. However, as not everyone can make the new date, we will also have some places available! So, if you'd been sad to miss out on this sold out event, now's your chance!

We were delighted to meet Fiona and Helen after their epic Rothschild's Way walk recently. They were fundraising for Kanaama KICS, a charity that supports communities in southwestern Uganda. Fiona says, "I'm raising money for Kanaama's hugely impactful women's literacy project - 120 women are learning the basics of literacy and numeracy. One year in and they are not only getting to grips with reading, writing and simple maths, but their confidence is growing so that they are taking part in community meetings." https://www.justgiving.com/page/fiona-bristow-5

The Rothschild's Way is a 39 mile route extending to Woodwalton Fen from Wicken Fen and commemorating the early wildlife conservation work of Charles Rothschild. An impressive challenge at any time, let alone in the current heatwave. Well done ladies!

"We drained Britain dry. Now we are watching it burn" - Craig Benett, Chief Executive of The Wildlife Trusts shares his thoughts on the irresponsible claims that rewilding is to blame for this summer's wildfires.

Britain faces summers of extreme heat, drought and wildfires. The solution to help us adapt is more nature - not less.

It was battle of the rafts at our first Wild in the Woods Day Camp! What a brilliant activity. They worked to design and build their own unique rafts, then gently lowered them into the main pond to see who's would float (or withstand attack as it turned out!).

Have a young person who'd like to join us for the next day of play, crafting and exploration in our beautiful nature reserve? See link in comments.
