Can’t believe we’re managing this, but here’s a non-Apple day post! 😲😂 On Saturday, there are TWO big opportunities to go wildlife spotting and record your findings. It’s October Big Day for birding and also UK Fungus Day! Coinciding with World Migratory Bird Day, Big Day is the perfect chance to record all the birds you see on that day. And for fungi, you can join The Big Fly Agaric Find! So why not join in with both, at home or maybe at Holme (Fen)!

🍎What's an Apple and Harvest Fair without produce?? Enormous thanks to Heath Fruit Farm and Pumpkins At Freshfields for keeping us supplied again this year. On Sunday you can choose from the many different varieties of eating and cooking apples on offer and get the perfect pumpkin for carving. 🎃

📣Incredible wetland habitat incoming!! Diggers have begun creating a vast new wetland area at Speechly's Farm, the land you and the The National Lottery Heritage Fund enabled us to buy three years ago! Thank you so much to everyone who supports the Peatland Progress project and our continued landscape restoration and wildlife conservation. Read all about it!

🥳We are very excited to see work starting on one of our biggest ever wetland restoration sites.

💚The National Lottery and our generous members and supporters helped us buy Speechly's Farm three years ago.

Now, after lots of planning and preparation, the diggers have arrived to turn an area almost the size of Hyde Park into a thriving wetland.
