What a couple of weeks it’s been at our Easter Camp 🙌

We brought young people together here at Rise in Unity to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy themselves in a safe and supportive environment.

From self-defence and sports to creativity and volunteering, it’s been great to see everyone getting involved and making the most of it 💪

🐣 Easter Holiday Camp (HAF) 🐣

Looking for something fun for the kids during the Easter holidays?

Join us for our Easter HAF Camp where young people can enjoy a range of activities in a safe, friendly and active environment.

Activities include martial arts, team games, gaming consoles, pool tables, VR, board games and more.

🍽 Food provided each day with hot and cold meal options available. Meals can be adapted for different dietary needs – just include requirements when completing the booking form.

📅 Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the Easter holidays
⏰ 12:00 – 16:00
📍 Ground Control BJJ / Rise in Unity Youth Hub

💰 Free for young people eligible for free school meals (HAF funded)
💰 £10 per day for those not eligible

We’re really proud to share an update on our new dining area, it’s coming along brilliantly! 🙌

A huge thank you to the The Transpennine Route Upgrade for supporting this space. This isn’t just a room, it’s going to be a place where young people, families and the wider community can sit together, eat together, and connect.

🥋 Classes Are Back to Normal at Ground Control BJJ 🥋

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back on the mats and getting back into training 💪

📅 Classes are now back to normal, with:
• Beginners class – 5:30pm
• Regular kids class – 6:30pm
• Adults class – 7:30pm–9:00pm

💳 Memberships & Payments
Monthly memberships can be purchased or updated via our website, and day-by-day sessions can also be booked online.

As a small club, keeping memberships up to date helps us cover essential running costs and continue providing high-quality sessions for our members. We kindly ask all parents and members to check that payments are active before attending.

We’re really looking forward to what the new year brings and can’t wait to continue providing self-defence sessions for our community 🥋🤍

What a fantastic Christmas party we had last week with everyone at Ground Control BJJ and Rise in Unity 🎄

It was great to come together and celebrate the year we’ve had, reflect on how far we’ve come, and spend time with our community. We’re heading into the new year with fresh ideas, renewed energy, and the same commitment to always strive to be a better support network for the people around us.

A massive thank you to Dark Woods Coffee for sponsoring our Christmas party- it genuinely wouldn’t have happened without your support. We appreciate you very much and are so grateful to work alongside businesses that believe in community.

We’re thrilled to share some amazing news: Rise in Unity has been awarded funding from the TRU Community Fund to help us create a kitchen and dining area for our local community to use.

This will enable us to offer hot meals and create an even more welcoming space where young people and families can come together. 💛
