What a busy day full of songs and special visitors to the Slawit SHOP exhibition at the Colne Valley Museum today.

Gill met with some of the Slawit Sifters to start planning how this group continues unearthing history for the local area.

Ray and Adam - Colne Valley Motor Parts Ltd former and current business owners came to see the Colne Valley Motor Parts Song written by Andy Burton - you could help but sing along!

It was so lovely to welcome Ray's family to the exhibition and speak to many people about what could happen next with the SlawitSHOP! project.

It is the last day of the exhibition at the museum tomorrow (12-4pm). Bring your nearest and dearest and have your heart warmed with local history.

It is the final weekend of the SlawitSHOP! project the Colne Valley Museum this weekend. We have some lovely embellishments to the exhibition this weekend.

The Slawit Sifters research group will be meeting to round up their journey on the project at 12pm followed by the wonderful The Watershed Slaithwaite choir - Sing Global who will be singing songs from the decades at 1.15pm.

We shall also shine a light on Number 16 - Colne Valley Motor Parts Ltd and it's shop history from Mary Hobson to Harry Robinson, Ray Howard and the current owner Adam Cottrell. We will celebrate this shop with a live performance for Andy Burton's Colne Valley Motor Parts song which is a lot of fun to join in with.

If you can't make it on Saturday join us for you last opportunity to see the exhibition on Mothering Sunday. Project co-ordinators, Sky and Suzie will be there before we take the exhibition down ready to evaluate and celebrate what has been an amazing 18 month of research, creativity and stories.
