Hello Friends of Inwood Park!

We’re excited to share that The Hounslow Repair Café have acquired funding and put together dates for 2 separate initiatives between 2025 - 2026. They will be running a Repair cafe, alongside a new Youth Repair Workshop focusing on electrical, bike and sewing repair skills. Check out the posters for more details!
These workshops are designed to:

✅Build real-life STEM and repair skills
✅Improve problem-solving and resilience
✅Encourage sustainability mindsets and circular economy
✅Reduce waste and extend life span of everyday items

Shining a spotlight on our Skylarks Hounslow funders 🔦

We’re celebrating the amazing funders making Skylarks Hounslow possible - starting with a HUGE thank you to Hounslow Thriving Communities Fund our major capital funder!

Thanks to their NCIL funding and incredible backing for our capital project, we’re thrilled to soon open our brand-new, fully accessible space in 📍 Inwood Road Park, designed specifically for children with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, right in the heart of Hounslow.

For almost two decades, thousands of families have found a home with Skylarks. Now, we’re bringing that same trusted support closer to home for families in Hounslow - because you told us you needed it, and we listened. 🧡

Cllr Grewal, Cabinet Member for Residents Support, Communities and Equalities at Hounslow Council, said:

“As a Council, we have seen unprecedented demand for our services that support children with special educational needs. Skylarks is a fantastic charity that provides vital support to those families in need. We are incredibly proud of this partnership and the benefit the new space will bring to the local community.”

March is Pet Poison Prevention Month! 🐶🐱🚫

Our furry friends rely on us to keep them safe, and that includes protecting them from hidden dangers in our homes! 🏡💙 Many everyday items—like chocolate, certain plants, and household cleaners—can be toxic to pets.

🚨 Common Pet Poisons to Watch Out For:
❌ Chocolate & caffeine ☕🍫
❌ Grapes & raisins 🍇
❌ Onions & garlic 🧄🧅
❌ Xylitol (found in sugar-free gum) 🍬
❌ Certain houseplants (like lilies for cats!) 🌿🌸
❌ Medications & household chemicals 💊🧴

🐾 How to Keep Pets Safe:
✔️ Store toxic items out of reach
✔️ Be cautious with table scraps
✔️ Research pet-safe plants
✔️ Keep emergency vet numbers handy

If you suspect your pet has ingested something harmful, contact your vet or a pet poison hotline immediately! 🚑📞
