It is a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales. Our Organization is established:
1. To improve the asylum system in the U.K and around the world for asylum seekers and refugees by campaigning and providing adequate solutions;
2.To make sure asylum seekers are treated with respect and dignity during their asylum process in any area such as immigration, accomodation, educatio
n, health, legal service and other without distinction of age, race, political, religious or other opinion.
3. Provide or secure the provision of welfare advice and information to asylum seekers and refugees about any kind of support available for them and any support in which they are eligible according to the Geneva Convention and refer them to the relevant agencies. To produce films, documentaries, books and any other media items raising issues affecting refugees in order to increase people understanding of the asylum process;
2. To create social activities and jobs in which refugees will get involved, provide training and develop them to be actors and filmmakers;
3. To raise income by selling cinema tickets, DVDs and Blurays, books and other merchandise to help us meet our aim and support asylum seekers and refugees. We strongly understand that refugees begin another nightmare when they get their leave to remain in the U.K ; they face a second difficulty which is funding jobs in the environment where their skills and knowledge are underestimated by others. The other issue is funding accommodation, specially for single people without children due to the actual housing policy.That is why the Respect and Dignity for Refugees (RDR) privileges refugees in its work, gives them major role to play, provides jobs for them, gives them the opportunity for placement, work experience, voluntary jobs, trainings and workshops. Getting jobs will help them to dignify their life and pay for their accommodation themselves and support their family. Our organization is founded by a refugee, managed and run by refugees for refugees.
