Next up in our Meet the Team series is Susan, Manager of HOPWA HüB! 👋

Susan has been part of Tapestry for one year and joined us because she wanted to make a meaningful difference in adult social care. 💗

She loves leading her supportive and hardworking team, where everyone shares the same passion for what they do, and says it genuinely feels like a second family. 🥰

Outside of Tapestry, Susan enjoys swimming, coffee, being a mum, and cheering on her son and daughter at their football matches! ⚽☕🏊‍♀️

We’re introducing you to the wonderful people who help make Tapestry what it is - starting with Kim, our HüB Assistant!

Kim has been part of the Tapestry team for 3½ years and loves being out on the floor, bringing fun and energy to our service users through singing, games and quizzes. 🎶🎲

And her fun fact? She loves to swim!

Every Tuesday at HOPWA House in Hornchurch, we are joined by Karen, from to host our Dementia Choir! She is amazing and engaging (while being an awesome pianist and singer!) with our clients.

Singing and music are powerful - especially for people with dementia. Singing and joining a choir helps unlock preserved memories, triggers personal history, and stimulates brain activity by engaging multiple brain networks at once, supporting attention and concentration. It is also amazing for releasing feel-good chemicals. 🥰

Imogen has been part of Tapestry since November 2024, and chose to join us because she wanted to support older people, help tackle loneliness and be part of an organisation that genuinely cares about its people, its work and the wider community.

And her fun fact? 🔮 She’s an astrologer! ✨

On Saturday, we celebrated 20 years of Paines Brook Court HuB with a special community celebration on Saturday 26th September, bringing people together with a live performance, food, games and a DJ to mark two decades of care, connection and community in Harold Hill.

Thank you to all the amazing staff that spent time decorating, preparing, and helping out on the day, and thank you our all amazing clients and their families for helping us to celebrate!

We’re excited to be starting our new Men’s Social Group at HOPWA House in Hornchurch.

Every Wednesday, come along for a relaxed cuppa, a chat and a chance to spend time with others. There’ll be plenty to get involved in, including:
