We had such a lovely lunch yesterday at our new bi-monthly venue, Dobbies Garden Centre in Wallington. There were lots of laughs and chatter about travels and careers. Thank you to everyone who came along and we’re looking forward to the next one! 🍴💬🤗

What an interesting walk we had around the grounds of Reigate Castle. If you have never been up there, you have missed a treat, the paths wind between lush verdure and historical sites.
A meal at the Pizza Hut was a fitting end to the evening.

UPDATED NEW PLANS: We’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for tomorrow and it unfortunately with a 90% chance of rain in the morning, we’ve decided it would rather put a damper on our pétanque performance! We’ve decided that Plan B is the safer option and should still be lots of fun. We’re looking to rearrange the pétanque competition with a provisional date of 21st September planned at the moment.

Therefore, the plans for tomorrow are as follows:

Meet at 10.30am at Haywards Heath Social Club (downstairs bar), 6-8 Wivelsfield Road, Haywards Heath, RH16 4EG

The entry fee remains the same at £2. There will be a cash bar serving hot and cold (non-alcoholic ) drinks. Please bring some change if you have it.

If anyone has a set of mini carpet bowls, please do let me know and bring them along.

***Important Update***

As the forecast for Monday is looking wet ☔🌧️ we have a Plan B!

We have the use of the Haywards Heath Social Club if needed to play indoor carpet boules (if you have a set please bring it along) All other details will stay the same, the 3 social organisers (Amanda, Sue and Jodie) are all happy to shuttle people from the train station to the venue and we will still head to the Harvester afterwards for lunch. We hope to reschedule the Petanque comp for a later date if it can't go ahead.

We will make a final decision tomorrow so please keep an eye out for updates.

Monday is competition day!!! (In case you haven't heard 😂)

We might have already mentioned this once or twice but Monday is our Petanque Comp. Brighton & Sussex Oddfellows teaming with Mitcham, Reigate and Crawley Oddfellows to join forces and put on a great day out. Whether you are a pro or never played before, everyone is welcome. We will play a few matches and then head to The Harvester for lunch and a celebratory drink or two. Which team will get the trophy?

We have a few signed up but this a a call out for any other players, we would love to get another team together. 📢
