The first Fun Run was the concept of Laura Shurvinton, Gail Bethell and Lucy Etherington-Smith. Over 200 local children took part in the 2006 event, aged between 2 ½ and 13 years old. There were four separate Fun Runs with distances ranging from 400 metres to 1600 metres (a whole mile!) for the older children. Each child taking part wore a runner’s number and was awarded a medal and a much deserved bottle of water and biscuit on completing, which all added to the sense of occasion.

With FIVE races ranging from 400m to 2.4km, there’s something for everyone — plus fun warm-ups led by Fleet & Crookham AC before each race!
