🌱 A Little Pot Can Make a Big Difference! 🪴

Have you got any small terracotta pots left over from oven-baked cheeses, tapas or other tasty treats?

Rather than throwing them away, we'd love to give them a new lease of life at Ability Grows!

We're looking for donations of these lovely little pots, which we'll reuse to grow miniature jade plants and other small plants as part of our horticultural projects.

It's a wonderful way to recycle, reduce waste and support the people involved in our community projects. 💚

🌱 *Meet Tracy – one of our Ability Grows champions!* 🌱

Tracy has been coming to Ability Grows for around a year and says she loves it because it is a *calming, relaxing and happy place*. She enjoys making plant pots, being part of the team and helping with our social media.

📱 Over the past year, Tracy has developed some fantastic digital skills. She now helps create Facebook posts and posters by choosing ideas and photos, then using *voice commands with ChatGPT* to help turn those ideas into finished content.

The process involves Tracy deciding what she wants to say, giving instructions to ChatGPT, reviewing the result and helping to publish content on the Ability Grows page. She is also learning how to check messages and manage more of the social media process herself.

The technology helps Tracy express her own ideas and make more choices independently — and her confidence has grown enormously as a result. 💪

Tracy says one of the things she is most proud of is learning how to use ChatGPT, and next she would love to develop her *video editing skills* too. 🎥

She loves making people laugh, her favourite plant is the *spider plant* 🌿, and when we asked what makes her happy at Ability Grows, her answer was simply:

We are incredibly proud of Tracy and everything she is achieving. She really is an *Ability Grows champion!* 🌱📱

🌿 Join Us at the Greenfield Valley Festival! 🌿

We're excited to be part of the Greenfield Valley Festival on 2nd August, from 10:30am – 3:30pm at the Greenfield Valley Community Garden!

Come and visit the Ability Grows stall, where we'll be showcasing our community horticulture project, sharing what we do, and offering a lovely selection of plants and handmade items.

🌱 Find out how gardening helps build confidence, develop new skills, and bring people together.
🌼 Meet our friendly team and learn more about our therapeutic horticulture sessions.
🪴 Support our project by purchasing a plant or simply stopping by to say hello!

We'd love to see as many familiar and new faces as possible. Bring your friends and family along for a fantastic community day filled with local makers, activities, and plenty of green inspiration.

The ceremony will take place in London on **7 December**, courtesy of **Becky Gittins MP**.
This recognition belongs to everyone who has helped Ability Grows develop — our amazing service users, volunteers, staff, families, customers, community partners and all those who continue to support what we do.
From our plant shop and community projects to the skills, confidence and opportunities being created along the way, we are so proud of how far Ability Grows has come.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited and supported Ability Grows at the Bodrhyddan Hall Pots, Plants & Food Show.

Our service users had a brilliant day helping to man the stall, talk to visitors, support plant sales and gain real retail experience in a lovely public setting.

Ability Grows is about more than plants — it’s about building confidence, skills, independence and meaningful opportunities for the people we support.

Thank you to Bodrhyddan Hall for hosting such a wonderful event, and to The National Lottery Community Fund for helping make opportunities like this possible.

We’re excited to be attending the Pots, Plants & Food Show at Bodrhyddan Hall on 13th June with a beautiful selection of plants grown and cared for by our amazing individuals at Ability Grows.
Every plant purchased helps support our project, giving individuals the opportunity to develop confidence, independence, horticultural skills and real experience in a friendly retail environment.
