Have you heard of La Dolce Bolla , Marlows premier destination for premium Prosecco Superiore DOCG & a selection of Italian wines?

On 18th & 19th of July, they will be hosting the UK's first-ever festival dedicated to Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG in Marlow, transforming the town into the country’s Prosecco capital. Taste 30 different styles of Prosecco Superiore DOCG, meet the winemakers themselves, and enjoy a day of live music, good vibes and delicious food pairings in the relaxed setting of Liston Court Gardens in the heart of Marlow.

Sounds like an amazing event! We have teamed up with La Dolce Bolla and have 2 tickets to Saturday 19th July to be won!

Visit the Marlow Life Facebook group where there are daily posts with snippets of information on Prosecco & the event. All you have to do is answer the multiple choice question. How easy is that?!

You can also enter via our instagram - if you share, Like & tag the insta post you will receive an additional entry! Thats up to 15 chances to win!

The competition closes with the last question on 9th June. All names with correct answers will be entered into a random winner generator by the Marlow Life Admin Team. The winner will be announced on Tuesday 10th June on the Facebook group & Instagram.

You may have heard about Marlow Bottoms Christmas gem - The Shepherd Family Christmas Lights. Did you know this is the '25th' year the family have been doing them?!!!

The hours of effort behind these lights- around 100 every year, spent designing, installing, taking down, cleaning and repairing. Absolute dedication by Tony, Jancis and the family, all for charity.

You will agree that they deserve a well earned rest - they have announced that there will be no lights for Christmas 2025/26 and this Christmas may actually be the final year!!

It seems an injustice to refer to the lights as a display. Its more a show. A beautiful, memory making show. They are simply stunning and have attracted a number of visitors over the years.

It would be amazing if we, as a community, could make 2024 a mega fundraising year as a show of appreciation and as a huge THANK YOU to the Shepherds. A donation no matter how big or small, would be so appreciated . That the total raised will be going to Dementia Action Marlow is just the icing on the cake so to speak.

You can donate via the official lights page - Shepherd family Christmas lights or when you visit as there is a card tap point & collection tins I believe.

Times are tough for many and if you aren't able to donate, a share of their post ( or even this one!) and a comment with your memories of trips to see the lights would also be lovely.

Don't forget to make a visit this Christmas!

Dementia Action Marlow provides support to people living with dementia and their carers, and facilitate social interaction by hosting weekly café gatherings to enable friendships between those people in similar situations. They have over 150 members from Marlow & the surrounding area.

On the back of the Marlow Medical Group post we shared earlier, these are interesting stats. There is no reason why nearly 4k appointments were missed. It only takes a phone call*!!That would then free up those appointments for those who say they have difficulty in booking.

There are actually 4 ways listed at the bottom of the MMG post on how to cancel an appointment so there is NO excuse!!!
