LAST CHANCE TO VISIT FRESH AIR SCULPTURE SHOW

This year will be the very last opportunity to visit The Fresh Air Sculpture Show, which will draw to a close after over three decades.

Founded in 1992 by Lucy Abel Smith and her late husband, David, this biennial event has become a fixture in the art and gardens calendar celebrating contemporary art in the beautiful riverside setting of their organic garden at The Old Rectory in the Cotswold village of Quenington.

Now Lucy and the Trustees have decided that this, the carnival-themed 17th Show, will be the ‘last blast’ finale. The final Show will launch on Sunday June 14 and close on Sunday July 5.

To honour the Show’s legacy, representative sculptors from each of the last 17 editions will return, creating a cross-generational line-up, including Sally de Courcy, Steve Messam, Daniel Chadwick, Sally Fawkes and Richard Jackson, Ruth Moiliet and Carole Peace.

The Pool House Gallery will be back and will feature a wide-ranging edit of British craft, including both new and previous artists under the stewardship of Tracey Burgoyne.

Tickets for Fresh Air Sculpture are now available. For more information about the Show and how to buy tickets, go to

Our thanks go to member Tim Baynes for a very engaging and informative demonstration of landscape painting in acrylic at our February meeting this week.
His enthusiasm for sketching and painting the local landscape was infectious as can be seen in these photos taken by local photographer and friend of CAG, David Chalk.
