As Baby Loss Awareness Week comes to a close, we wanted to share that The Witham Hub and The Braintree Hub have made a small donation to two very special charities:

🌹 The Ruby Rose Foundation

🦋 Little Wings of Hope

We recognise that The Ruby Rose Foundation is not strictly a baby loss charity, but we believe that grief should never be defined by the age of the child.

Every child is someone’s baby, whether they were with us for a few precious moments, a few years, or much longer.

The love a parent has for their child doesn’t come with an age limit, and neither does the heartbreak of losing them.

Baby Loss Awareness Week is an important opportunity to remember those little lives lost far too soon, to acknowledge the families who carry that loss every day, and to remind them that they are not alone.

At The Witham Hub and The Braintree Hub, supporting our community goes beyond the practical help we offer each day. It’s also about compassion, understanding and recognising the challenges and heartbreak that people may carry, often silently.

Our donations may be small, but they are given with love, respect and recognition of the incredible work these charities do.

To every parent, grandparent, sibling and family member carrying the heartache of losing a child, at any age, we send our love.

If you’re able, please consider showing these wonderful charities a little support. Whether that’s through a donation, sharing their pages, or simply taking a moment to learn about the work they do, every small gesture can make a difference. 💕

Tonight, at 7pm, families and communities around the world are invited to light a candle in remembrance of babies who have died.

As candles are lit across different time zones, a beautiful Wave of Light travels around the world.

Each flame represents love, remembrance and a precious life that will never be forgotten.

Tonight, we invite our community to join us.

Light a candle at 7pm, place it somewhere safe and take a quiet moment to remember.

For the babies we held in our arms.

For the babies we held only in our dreams.

For the babies who will always be held in our hearts.

Their lives may have been short, but the love they inspired is everlasting.

For too long, baby loss has been something many families have felt unable to talk about.

Miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death and other forms of pregnancy and baby loss can leave families feeling isolated, misunderstood and alone.

No one should feel ashamed of their grief or pressured to hide their experience.

Talking about baby loss doesn’t make it happen more often. It helps us understand the importance of compassionate care, remembrance and support.

At The Witham Hub and The Braintree Hub, we believe everyone deserves to feel listened to, valued and included.

Nobody should have to face grief in silence.

You don’t have to share your story. But you should always feel safe to do so.

For parents who have experienced baby loss, there can be an additional heartbreak that others may not always understand.

The world continues turning, but the future they imagined has changed forever.

There may be no first steps, no first day at school, no birthdays celebrated in the way they dreamed.

But there is still love.

There is still a bond.

And there is still a baby who will always be part of their family.

To every mother and father who has had to say goodbye before they were ready, we see you.

Your baby existed. Your love is real. Your grief matters.

Behind a smile, a busy working day or someone simply getting on with life, there may be a parent carrying the heartbreak of losing a baby.

Baby loss affects mothers, fathers, partners, grandparents, siblings and entire families.

Some speak openly about their loss. Others carry their grief privately.

Some have photographs and keepsakes. Others have very little to hold on to beyond their memories and the love they feel.

No two experiences are the same.

During Baby Loss Awareness Week, we ask everyone to remember that we rarely know what someone else is carrying.

A little kindness, patience and understanding can mean more than we realise.

🩷🩵 SOMETIMES THE SIMPLEST WORDS MEAN THE MOST

When someone loses a baby, knowing what to say can feel impossible.

People often worry about saying the wrong thing, and sometimes that fear means they say nothing at all.

But silence can leave grieving families feeling even more alone.

You don’t need the perfect words.

💗 “I’m so sorry.”

💗 “I’m here if you need me.”

💗 “Would you like to tell me about your baby?”

💗 “I’m thinking of you.”

If the family has shared their baby’s name, don’t be afraid to use it.

And please avoid phrases such as “You can try again” or “Everything happens for a reason.”

No baby can ever be replaced.

Compassion doesn’t require perfect words. Just a caring heart.

🩷 THERE IS NO EXPIRY DATE ON GRIEF 🩵

A baby may have been lost yesterday, ten years ago or fifty years ago.

The passing of time does not erase the love, the memories or the dreams that never had the chance to become reality.

For some parents, the pain becomes quieter. For others, certain dates, places or moments bring it rushing back.

There is no correct way to grieve, and there is no deadline for healing.

Please never tell a grieving parent that they should be over it by now.

Instead, listen. Remember. Be kind.

Because however much time passes, a baby will always be part of their family’s story.
