If your application is submitted by Monday 4th May at the latest, we will check it to ensure that the application is complete and correct and that all required documents have been submitted. Any application submitted after 4th May will go forward to the Fund for review as it stands and may be rejected if it is deemed incomplete.

Pleased to announce that in the latest round (36th) of funding awards, the Fund has approved grants totalling £90,869📣 This funding will help support 14 projects spread across the designated Fund area in Moray and the Highlands to achieve their aims. We're recruiting!📣 Would you like to become a Fund Member and put your time towards benefiting communities within the area covered by the Berry Burn Community Fund (BBCF)?

Applications are currently being invited from local individuals - especially those with financial skills - living in the Community Council areas listed below to become Fund Members of the BBCF. The role of Fund Member is voluntary and no fee is payable, however, legitimate travel expenses can be claimed.

The BBCF receives an annual grant donated by renewable energy company Statkraft, owners of the Berry Burn Wind Farm. This funding is distributed by the Fund Members in the form of grants to benefit the communities within the Community Council areas of Forres, East Nairnshire, Grantown-on-Spey, Cromdale & Advie, Speyside, Heldon, Findhorn & Kinloss, Finderne and D**e Landward.

The Fund Members are all based within the Fund zone and share a commitment to improving community life within our area. Their role is to award grants in a fair, reasonable and balanced manner and to monitor the progress of the projects supported.

Two neighbours, two tractors 🚜 One of the themes in 2025 was land management and the need to do that more easily. Mandala Garden Project Ltd's aim was to double the amount of vegetable production (0.613acre to 1.226acre) for their veg box scheme https://mandalagarden.uk/web/MarketGarden/CropShareBoxes while also providing more volunteering opportunities. And for Gomde Scotland, a tractor is crucial to managing their 50-acre woodland. On the left is Mandala's new tractor and on the right, Gomde's 🙂

It's a privilege to be able to support such a dedicated young competitive swimmer. Amongst her other achievements for the 2024/2025 season, Abbigail Hollie Mitchell was the top female swimmer of the day at swimming legend Adam Peaty's AP Race Day in Aberdeen earlier this month 🏊‍♀️👏🙂
