Today our Air Cadets took to the field for an exciting test launch session as part of their preparation for the upcoming rocketry competition!

From carefully assembling the rockets to running safety checks and countdown procedures, every cadet played a vital role. The hard work paid off as we watched their designs soar into the sky — a true display of teamwork, precision, and STEM skills in action. 💪✨

Moments like these build more than rockets - they build confidence, leadership, and a passion for aerospace innovation. 🌤️

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 2025

Today, 36 (Hetton-le-Hole) Squadron paraded with Veterans and Scouts at Easington Lane.

It was a lovely service, and the cadets all did the squadron and the wider organisation proud.

It’s an honour to stand beside our fantastic young people on such an important day.

BATTLE OF BRITAIN PARADE 2026

Sunday 14th September saw 36 (Hetton-le-Hole) Sqn represent the squadron at Durham Cathedral.

The Battle of Britain was a major military campaign during World War II, fought between the United Kingdom and N**i Germany in 1940. It was the first major battle fought entirely by air forces, and its outcome had a huge impact on the course of the war.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thank you to Cpl Appleby who paraded the squadron banner with pride.

5 cadets from the Squadron attended the RAF Air Cadet National Air and Space Camp Industry day. They joined over 2000 other cadets from around the country that had access to a number of industry leaders in aviation as well as exhibitors from the RAF including the Red Arrows and the Typhoon display team. Everyone enjoyed themselves and got a lot out of the day including taking the opportunity to take full advantage of the freebies available from the exhibitors. If today didn’t go the way you hoped, please remember: your results don’t define you. Exams are just one small part of your journey, and there are always different paths to get where you want to be.
Many successful people didn’t follow a straight line – sometimes setbacks open doors to opportunities you hadn’t even thought of yet.
Be proud of the effort you put in, no matter what’s on that piece of paper. You’ve got so much ahead of you – and everything really does have a way of working out. 💛

ANNUAL SUMMER CAMP - RAF Valley

The start of the summer camp season saw Cadet Williams attend RAF Valley for a week learning about how the base works.

It was an excellent week with lots of learning and new friends made.

Coming up, we have Cadet Flight Sergeant at RAF Leeming Super Camp and Cadet Corporal Mills joining with Northumbria ACF for camp at Warcop.
