Our followers will be well aware of our fabulous relationship with Thingwall Primary School.
Recently, both settings were mentioned in each other’s professional body inspections! Trepassey was referred to in Thingwall’s Ofsted report…

“Pupils’ compassion and care for others are celebrated through the school’s successful intergenerational project. Leaders have implemented a partnership with a local care home that links meaningfully with the curriculum. Pupils learn about life in the past and the qualities needed to be successful in life.”

…and Thingwall were referred to in Trepassey’s CQC report:

“The provider had developed an exceptionally positive relationship with a local primary school, enabling regular intergenerational visits that enriched the lives of people using the service and the children involved. Throughout the year, residents and pupils participated in a range of shared initiatives, including the Positive Painting Project, Positive Planting Project and Positive Performance Project.

Feedback from the school evidenced the significant impact of these activities. Teachers reported that pupils had developed greater confidence, empathy, communication skills and a genuine understanding of different generations through their interactions with residents. The school described the partnership as highly valued, stating, “The memories created, and the laughter shared are wonderful and very much valued by all.”

Needless to say, both settings were pleased with the recognition that our intergenerational links have received, as we know the links are invaluable to all ages...

We like to think that we take time to listen to our residents, they have their own ideas and opinions, and we like to encourage them! Last week Lisa, our activities coordinator, came up with two activities that promoted these values...One afternoon was Getting to Know Each Other and another was, Have your Say!
It wasn't just a tick in a box! They were listened to and Lisa has already followed up ideas and planned activities accordingly!
Happy residents = Very Happy Home!

🍽️ Don’t Dine Alone is back at Trepassey! 💙

We’re delighted to be bringing back our weekly Don’t Dine Alone lunches from Tuesday 6th October at 12:30pm.

Our lunches are for older people in our local community who may be feeling lonely or isolated and would enjoy some friendly company over a lovely meal. Come along, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed afternoon with us – there’ll always be a warm welcome waiting. 😊

🚐 Transport available within the Heswall area
👥 Maximum of 12 people each week

We welcomed our friends from Thingwall Primary back to Trepassey last week, their first visit since returning to school after their summer break. You can see by everyone's faces how much they enjoy these regular get togethers.
The week before, we were welcomed to Age UK Wirral Dementia Village, Claughton Village. A purpose built village set in times gone by. It includes a record shop, post office, bakery and pub. No prizes for guessing where our lot ended up!
