Welcome to the official page for 86 (Heston & Isleworth) Squadron, Air Training Corps. We are based in Heston in the London Borough of Hounslow and are one of 25 squadrons that make up Middlesex Wing of the Air Training Corps in the London and South East region. Cadets who join our squadron get fantastic opportunities to participate in a range of activities from flying, gliding and shooti
ng to drill, sports, adventure training and much more. We also run the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, for our cadets. Our recruitment targets young people from Year 8 at school between the ages of 12 and 20. We are particularly keen to attract individuals in search of a unique and valued skill set which will compliment them through their adult lives. Best of all - as we are parented by the Royal Air Force and funded by the Ministry of Defence - these opportunities are open to all young men and women free of charge. The only cost that will be incurred is a welfare payment of £72 per annum which contributes towards insurance costs. Uniform is also fitted and provided free of charge.
