We have said goodbye to the daffodils - but at last, our bluebells are slowly getting established. The grassed area was mowed today - why not take a picnic up to the gate, and enjoy a sit in the sun before the rain arrives on Sunday 😎

When you next go to Tranby Gate Woodland - see if you can find the ‘Dark Wood’! After years of neglect and a mountain of historical fly tipping, The Friends of Tranby Gate have removed all the rubbish and restored this part of the woodland to a peaceful and atmospheric place…

We also have ‘Kate of the Gate’ to watch over the seeds…unfortunately she does have a bit of a habit of falling over…so please feel free to walk around the sown ground and stand her up again 😊 Scarecrows! They are in a world of their own 🌼

The Tranby Gate Team met up to prepare a piece of ground to create a wildflower meadow 🌼🪻🌷🌻 Seed is now sown - just need a little rain 🌧️ to help them on their way 🙏

Whilst the daffodils at the front of the gate are beginning to fade - those planted with help form our local families look wonderful! Please do go and look😀

Tonight’s the night! 🎄

It’s almost time for our final route of the season. Join us from around 7:30pm – 8:30pm at Tranby Gate Woodland and Wildlife Haven for carols under the trees.

🍷 Mulled wine and mince pies will be served, with proceeds going to the Friends of Tranby Gate to help protect our local woodland.

🏥 Any additional donations to the Waits support our annual grant to Dove House Hospice.

Once we've finished at the woodland, we will be setting off down Woodfield Lane and Southfield to keep the music going!

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support the Friends of Tranby Gate Macmillan coffee morning and/or who baked for us. We were really lucky with the weather and everyone had a lovely time. If you weren't able to come along you can still donate online at this link. We have made £305.71 so far which is fantastic.

Just a reminder that the Friends of Tranby Gate Macmillan coffee morning is on Friday 10 am to 12 noon outside Tranby Gate. All welcome. Also donations of cakes are welcome. Hopefully the weather will be kind!
