We are delighted that the residents of Holmer Court Care Home have chosen the Hereford City Poppy Appeal as their fundraising charity of the year!

Holmer Court residents and staff were hugely supportive of the Hereford City Poppy Appeal in 2025 and took part in fundraising activities and commemorations for VE 80, fundraising at Morrisons, Hereford. Community Champion during the 2025 Poppy Appeal and also created a wonderful display for our event at St Peter's and St James, Hereford during the remembrance weekend.

We are thoroughly looking forward to continuing our work with Holmer Court and thank all of the staff, residents and their supporters for their continued support and commitment to the Hereford City Poppy Appeal.

🇬🇧💂Royal British Legion🇬🇧💂

We’re proud to announce that Holmer Court Care Home has chosen The Royal British Legion Herefordshire as our Charity of the Year. 🇬🇧

At Ashberry Healthcare, we are committed to supporting the communities around our homes and strengthening the connections that make them so special. As part of our initiative to partner with local charities making a real difference in their areas, Holmer Court is proud to stand alongside an organisation whose mission closely aligns with our values of care, respect, and community.

This partnership is especially meaningful to us, as it was nominated by our residents - many of whom have personal connections to the Armed Forces, whether through their own service, family members, or experiences during times of national service. The Royal British Legion represents remembrance, support, and lifelong care for those who have given so much, which resonates deeply within our home.

Following a successful collaboration with the charity late last year, where we saw first-hand the difference their work makes across Herefordshire, it felt only right to continue building on that relationship. For many of our residents, this partnership is not only about giving back but also about honouring memories, sharing stories, and ensuring that the sacrifices of past generations are never forgotten.

Throughout the year, we’ll be working together to raise funds, host meaningful events, and bring our community closer - supporting a cause that means so much to those who live and work within our home.

We’re looking forward to a year of connection, remembrance, and making a real difference together.

⭐️Hereford City Poppy Appeal needs you! ⭐️

If you are able to spare some time to support the Poppy Appeal within Hereford City between Thursday 22 October and Saturday 07 November, please get in touch!

We have collection points in the majority of supermarkets throughout the city and most will be manned, 7 days a week throughout the Poppy Appeal!

We can be completely flexible and work your volunteering around any other commitments you may have.

In addition, there is no minimum time requirement to volunteer. Whether you volunteer for 1 hour during the appeal or every day throughout the appeal, we are grateful for time and support.

This is a great volunteering opportunity for all ages including children and young adults especially during October half term.

Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult.

We look forward to hearing from you!

🎉🇬🇧Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers and supporters. This could not have been achieved without your hard work, dedication and commitment 🎉🇬🇧

We cannot wait to do it all again later this year!

Thank you to everyone who supported the 2025 Poppy Appeal, and wore their poppy with pride. ❤️

Together, we raised an amazing £56.6 million! 🎉

These funds will help people like Ian Dewer, who became homeless in 2022 after health issues and loss of employment. Emergency housing and life‑changing financial and practical support helped Ian and his family rebuild their lives.

They'll also help people like Tony McGlone, who had his left leg amputated almost three decades after an army training injury shattered his foot and ankle. We helped Tony with a new boiler and new kitchen; food and clothing vouchers while he and his partner were unable to work and emergency financial support.

We couldn't have achieved this without our dedicated volunteers, partners and supporters. Thank you for your hard work - we can't wait to do it all again for Poppy Appeal 2026!
