Widows Sons MBA Taurus Chapter Ta**us Chapter – Widows Sons (Herefordshire)
Freemasons united by brotherhood, charity & a love of motorbikes. Monthly ride-outs. Recognised by UGLE. Ride safe.

Welcome to the Ta**us Chapter – Widows Sons Masonic Biker Association – Herefordshire

We are the Ta**us Chapter, the official Widows Sons group for Freemasons in Herefordshire who share a passion for motorcycling, brotherhood, and charitable outreach. As part of the internationally recognised Widows Sons Masonic Biker Association, and proudly aligned with the only UK association recognised by the

United Grand Lodge of England, we aim to:
• Ride together as brothers and promote friendship and support among fellow Freemasons
• Raise Masonic awareness within the wider biking community
• Support local charitable causes through our presence, rides, and events
• Assist and strengthen our local Lodges however we can

Ta**us holds regular ride-outs, events, and meetups – with full members and associate Greenhorns welcome. We’re not an MC or 1% club – we wear our Square and Compass near our hearts, not on our backs, and always represent the Craft with pride, integrity, and good humour. Whether it’s a countryside ride, a rally weekend, or simply breakfast and banter with brethren, Ta**us is forging strong bonds on and off the road. Ride true. Ride together.

🏍️🇩🇰 AND HE’S OFF… DENMARK BOUND! 🇩🇰🏍️

Our Vice President Billy “Joker” Russell is officially on the road and the Denmark adventure has begun!

Today he’s making his way down to Folkestone, where he’ll stay overnight before meeting up with members of the Widows Sons East Kent Chapter tomorrow morning.

From there, it’s bikes loaded onto the Eurotunnel and then the real journey begins — riding through France 🇫🇷, Belgium 🇧🇪 and Germany 🇩🇪 before finally arriving in Denmark 🇩🇰 for a motorcycle rally with the Danish Masonic Riders.

It’s going to be some adventure, plenty of miles, plenty of laughs and no doubt a few stories along the way! 😂

We’ll be following Joker’s progress over the next week and sharing some of the photos and updates from the road, so keep an eye on the Ta**us page.

From everyone at Ta**us…

Safe travels Joker, East Kent and everyone making the journey. Have an absolutely epic trip! 🐂🏍️🇩🇰

🏍️🐂 THE ANNUAL TA**US ASSOCIATES RIDE 🐂🏍️

Today was the day for one of our annual rides that we always look forward to — the Ta**us Associates Ride!

This is the ride where we hand things over to our Associates. They choose where they want to go and the stops they’d like to make, then our Road Captain takes their ideas and puts the ride together.

This year’s chosen destination was Mumbles, Swansea. 🌊🏍️

There was just one problem…

The Great British weather! 🌧️😂

As the week went on, the forecast for Sunday afternoon wasn’t looking particularly friendly, so our Road Captain Dai “Man Down” Jones had already been working on Plan B. With the weather showing no signs of improving, this morning we made the decision to go with it.

Everyone met at Asda in Hereford for 9am, where Man Down and our VP Billy “Joker” Russell had a quick chat to make sure we had the best and safest route for the morning.

At 9:15, Man Down gave the group a route and safety brief, going over some of the signs we use while riding and explaining the plan for the day. We also had a couple of riders joining us who hadn’t ridden with Ta**us before, so we spent a little time with them explaining how we ride as a group and making sure everyone was comfortable.

9:30 — stands up! 🏍️💨

We headed south towards Abergavenny and made our way to The Roadhouse for breakfast.

Good food, plenty of laughs and great company — pretty much everything you need from a Sunday morning! 😂☕🥓

After an hour or so, it was back on the bikes and homeward bound to Hereford, finishing at our usual haunt, HR4K, for another coffee and a good chat.

We knew the rain wasn’t far away, so after an hour we said our goodbyes and everyone headed for home before the worst of it arrived.

It might not have been the Associates Ride we’d originally planned…

But that’s motorcycling.

Plans change. Routes change. The weather definitely changes!

The important bit doesn’t — getting out on the bikes with good people and enjoying the day together.

A cracking morning, great roads, great food and, most importantly, great company.

And a big thank you to all of our Associates for the continued support you give Ta**us throughout the year. This ride is about you, and hopefully we’ll get that trip to Mumbles another day! 👏🐂

Ride Together. Make Memories.

🐂🏍️ MORE THAN A MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION 🏍️🐂

From the outside, it’s easy to see the motorcycles.

The patches.
The ride-outs.
The rallies.
The events.

But spend a little time around Ta**us and you’ll soon realise there’s something much more important behind all of that.

We’re a family.

We celebrate the good times together.

Birthdays, achievements, new members, new adventures and all those moments that give us an excuse to get together and raise a glass. 🍻

But we’re also there through the difficult times.

When we know someone is struggling, we check in.

When someone needs help, we step up.

And when one of our own needs us standing beside them, that’s exactly where you’ll find us.

That’s the bond that grows when you spend thousands of miles together, share experiences, laugh until your sides hurt and occasionally help each other through some of life’s toughest moments.

And it doesn’t stop at Ta**us.

Being part of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association means being part of a much wider family — one that stretches across Chapters, countries and continents.

The motorcycles may have brought many of us together…

But the friendships, the support and the people are what keep us together.

That’s Ta**us.

That’s the Widows Sons.

🐂 More than motorcycles. More than an Association. A family.

🐂🏍️ A COUPLE OF CHANGES AT TA**US 🏍️🐂

Some of you may have noticed a slight change recently…

Our very own Billy “Joker” Russell is sporting a different office patch!

Joker has officially moved from his role as Sergeant at Arms and is now the Vice President of Ta**us Chapter. 🐂

It’s a role he is incredibly proud to take on, and one he hopes to fulfil to the very best of his ability. Anyone who knows Joker will know how much Ta**us means to him, and he’ll be working tirelessly alongside our President Chippy and the rest of the Chapter to continue moving Ta**us forward.

Before we look ahead, though, we also want to recognise Joseph “Pitstop” Dignam and the work he put into the role of Vice President.

Joseph has been a big part of Ta**us from its early days and played an important part in helping the Chapter become what it is today. His contribution, commitment and the support he gave to Ta**us during his time as Vice President should absolutely be acknowledged and thanked.

With Joker moving into the VP role, that left another office to fill.

We’ve also decided to rename the office previously known as Sergeant at Arms, which will now be known within Ta**us as Tyler.

And when it came to finding the right man for the job, our President Chippy couldn’t think of anyone better than our very own Richard “Indian” Hall.

Indian has already shown time and again just how committed he is to Ta**us. He’s a great bloke, someone we’re proud to have amongst us and, just like Joker, we know he’ll work tirelessly to fulfil his new role and do what’s best for the Chapter.

So there we have it…

🐂 Billy “Joker” Russell — Vice President

🐂 Richard “Indian” Hall — Tyler

Two new roles, plenty of work ahead and the same goal we’ve always had — doing what’s best for Ta**us and continuing to build on everything we’ve achieved together.

From everyone at Ta**us, we wish Joker and Indian the very best of luck in their new offices for the next 12 months.

We’re sure they’ll both give it everything they’ve got. 👏🐂

🏍️🐂 WHAT A WEEKEND AT THE TAILENDER! 🐂🏍️

What a cracking weekend!

Our newly appointed Vice President Joker, along with Elvis, Floki and Check In, headed over to Alcester Rugby Club for the Worcestershire Chapter Tailender Rally.

Arriving just after lunchtime on Friday, it didn’t take long to get camp set up, tents pitched and, more importantly, the shorts on! 😂

As members from other Chapters started arriving, the bar opened and the weekend was officially underway.

Friday night’s entertainment came courtesy of the one and only Stevie Keys. Although Stevie isn’t a Widows Son, he is a fellow Freemason here in Herefordshire, and as always he put on a fantastic show.

Plenty of dancing, plenty of drinks, even more laughter and a brilliant atmosphere — exactly how a rally weekend should start! 🍻🎶

Saturday morning we were up bright and early, breakfast sorted and then it was onto the bikes for a ride over to Worcester Masonic Centre at Rainbow Hill for a meeting of Dormer Lodge.

Hopefully, in the not-too-distant future, the Lodge will become Vertis Widows Sons Lodge, making the occasion even more significant.

Following a great meeting, we were treated to a fantastic and interesting talk from WBro Tony Harvey on Freemasonry, followed by a Q&A session, which Tony handled brilliantly. 👏

Then it was back on the bikes and back to Alcester Rugby Club to prepare for Saturday night’s disco and karaoke.

And, as you can probably imagine…

It went down an absolute storm! 😂🎤🍻

Sunday morning arrived far too quickly. After breakfast it was time for the worst part of any rally weekend — packing everything away and saying goodbye.

But once again, we’ve come home with some brilliant memories, plenty of laughs and friendships strengthened with Brothers from across the Widows Sons.

A massive thank you to everyone at Worcestershire Chapter and everyone involved in organising the Tailender. Another fantastic weekend and we’re already looking forward to the next one. 👏🐂

We’d also like to give a special thank you to Worcestershire Chapter President Toon for allowing us to use some of his photos from the weekend. 📸👏

And speaking of the next one…

Keep an eye on the page in a couple of weeks, because our VP Joker is taking Ta**us international! 🇩🇰🏍️

He’s heading to Denmark for another rally adventure alongside members of East Kent and our National President Greg Kirby.

Something tells us there might be a story or two from that one… 😂

Denmark, you’ve been warned — Joker’s coming! 🇩🇰🐂

🐂🏍 IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH A COFFEE 🏍🐂

People think motorcycle rides are all about the miles.

They’re only half right.

Ask any biker and they’ll tell you…

Some of the best memories aren’t made on the road.

They’re made while standing in a café car park, mug of coffee in hand, putting the world to rights.

The ride might bring us together…

But it’s the conversations that build the friendships.

The laughter over breakfast.

The stories from the last ride.

The plans for the next one.

The friendly banter that somehow gets better every time we meet.

Whether it’s a bacon roll at the start of the day, a coffee stop halfway round or an ice cream before heading home…

Those moments matter just as much as the ride itself.

That’s why you’ll often hear people say…

“It’s never really about the destination.”

It’s about the people you share the journey with.

And that’s exactly what Ta**us is all about.

🐂 Good Roads. Good Coffee. Great Company.
