Welcome to the Ta**us Chapter – Widows Sons Masonic Biker Association – Herefordshire

We are the Ta**us Chapter, the official Widows Sons group for Freemasons in Herefordshire who share a passion for motorcycling, brotherhood, and charitable outreach. As part of the internationally recognised Widows Sons Masonic Biker Association, and proudly aligned with the only UK association recognised by the

United Grand Lodge of England, we aim to:
• Ride together as brothers and promote friendship and support among fellow Freemasons
• Raise Masonic awareness within the wider biking community
• Support local charitable causes through our presence, rides, and events
• Assist and strengthen our local Lodges however we can

Ta**us holds regular ride-outs, events, and meetups – with full members and associate Greenhorns welcome. We’re not an MC or 1% club – we wear our Square and Compass near our hearts, not on our backs, and always represent the Craft with pride, integrity, and good humour. Whether it’s a countryside ride, a rally weekend, or simply breakfast and banter with brethren, Ta**us is forging strong bonds on and off the road. Ride true. Ride together.

Every month people see us riding across Herefordshire.

They see the bikes.
They see the patches.
They see the camaraderie and the friendships.

What many don’t realise is that before Ta**us, before the Widows Sons, before the ride outs and events, there was Freemasonry.

Ta**us exists because of Freemasonry.

The values that guide our chapter today — Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service — all come from the principles of Freemasonry.

That’s why we’re encouraging anyone who has ever been curious about either Freemasonry or Ta**us to come along to this Open Day.

Whether you’re a biker, thinking about becoming a biker, interested in Freemasonry, or simply wondering what we’re all about, this is your chance to find out.

🚢🏍️🇩🇪 THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE BEGINS! 🇩🇪🏍️🚢

Well, yesterday it was 1 Day To Go…

Today, the waiting is over.

The bikes are loaded, the luggage is strapped down, and later today Ta**us will begin the journey to Harwich to catch the overnight ferry to the Hook of Holland as we set sail for Germany and the German Widows Sons 10th Anniversary Bash.

Joining forces with Brothers from Worcestershire, Brygstow and Wyvern Chapters, we’ll be heading across Europe to the Harz Mountains where around 170 Widows Sons will come together for a weekend of friendship, brotherhood, motorcycles and celebration.

What started as an idea around a table has become another international adventure. New roads to ride, old friends to meet, new memories to make and undoubtedly a few stories that will get better with every telling!

As our Poseidon Adventure sets sail tonight, we’d like to thank our families and loved ones who put up with the planning, the packing, the endless route discussions and all the excitement leading up to departure day.

The next update should be from Holland, before we continue our journey towards Germany.

Tomorrow morning the adventure begins!

After months of planning, route discussions, hotel bookings, ferry tickets, packing lists, and plenty of excitement, Ta**us will be setting off for Germany to join our German Brothers and Sisters in celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the German Widows Sons.

Three Ta**us members will be joining forces with Brothers from Worcestershire, Brygstow and Wyvern Chapters as we make our way to Harwich before boarding the overnight ferry to Holland and then riding on to the beautiful Harz Mountains.

Over the coming days we’ll be joining around 170 Widows Sons from across Germany and beyond for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of motorcycles, friendship, laughter and brotherhood.

Trips like this remind us what the Widows Sons is all about. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what chapter you belong to, or what bike you ride. The friendships made through Freemasonry and the Widows Sons stretch far beyond county and national borders.

The bikes are fuelled.
The luggage is packed.
The passports are ready.
The excitement levels are through the roof.

Tomorrow, the Ta**us bull heads for Germany. 🐂🔥

The countdown is almost over!

On Tuesday, three members of Ta**us – Herefordshire’s Chapter of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association – will set off on the next adventure as we head for Germany to join our German Brothers and Sisters in celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the German Widows Sons.

We’ll be meeting up with fellow Widows Sons from across England:

🐂 Ta**us Chapter (Herefordshire)
🐉 Worcestershire Chapter
🛡️ Brygstow Chapter (Gloucestershire)
🦅 Wyvern Chapter (Somerset)

Together we’ll make our way to Harwich to catch the overnight ferry to Holland before riding across Europe on Wednesday, heading for the stunning Harz Mountains of Germany.

Once there, we’ll join around 170 Widows Sons from over the world for what promises to be an incredible weekend of friendship, brotherhood, motorcycles, laughter and celebration.

It’s always amazing to see how Freemasonry and the Widows Sons bring people together from different countries, cultures and backgrounds, all united by the same values and passion for riding.

The bikes are nearly packed, the routes are planned, and the excitement is definitely building.

🐂🏍 CONGRATULATIONS JOKER 🏍🐂

On Monday afternoon, our own Joker was once again appointed as Provincial Grand Standard Bearer within the Province of Herefordshire.

For those outside of Freemasonry, Provincial appointments are awarded in recognition of a Brother’s contribution and commitment to Freemasonry, both within their Lodge and the wider Province.

Having first received the honour last year, being asked to continue in the role for another year is something to be proud of and reflects the work he continues to put into Freemasonry, Ta**us and the wider community.

Whilst Ta**us is about motorcycles, friendship and supporting good causes, we are Freemasons first and riders second. It is always fantastic to see one of our members recognised for their dedication and service.

Congratulations Joker from all your Ta**us brothers and sisters. We know how much Freemasonry means to you, and we’re proud to see you representing both Herefordshire Freemasonry and Ta**us.

Today we’d like to give a massive Ta**us shout-out to one of our Associates, Jud-E, who has successfully passed her CBT! 👏

Jud-E has been part of the Ta**us family virtually from the very beginning, becoming an Associate shortly after her husband, Birchy, joined us. Over that time, she’s become a valued part of our chapter, supporting events, ride-outs and everything we’re about.

Passing your CBT is a huge first step into the world of motorcycling, and we know how exciting that feeling is when the road ahead suddenly opens up with endless possibilities.

I know I speak for everyone in Ta**us when I say we’re incredibly proud of you and wish you the very best of luck on your motorcycling journey. We can’t wait to watch your confidence and experience grow, see you progress through your training, gain your full licence, and eventually join us out on the road for official ride-outs.

Most people see the bikes first…

The patches.
The ride outs.
The brotherhood on the road.

But behind it all is something much deeper.

Ta**us is built on Freemasonry, friendship, loyalty, charity and looking after each other — on and off the bike.

On Friday 3rd July, Herefordshire Freemasons are opening the doors for an informal evening where you can come along, ask questions, meet the people behind the patches and find out where Ta**us started.

No pressure.
No hard sell.
Just genuine conversation, good people and a chance to see what Freemasonry and Ta**us are actually about.

Whether you ride already, are curious about Freemasonry, or just want to understand the community behind the bikes — you’ll be made welcome 👊

🐂🏍 Ta**us Monthly Ride Out 🏍🐂

What a day for it ☀️

Around 15 bikes turned up at our usual meeting point at Asda in Hereford for this month’s official Ta**us ride-out — with a great mix of full patched members, associates and neighbouring members joining us for the day 👊

After the usual greetings and a ride brief, we fired the bikes up and headed out over Greyfriars Bridge, through Kings Acre and onwards towards Kington.

Turning off towards Hay-on-Wye and into Three C***s, we then made our way into Brecon for a quick pit stop before heading through Brecon itself and up towards the stunning roads around Pen Y Fan.

A stop at the famous Storey Arms Burger Van gave everyone chance to take in the fantastic scenery, sunshine and brilliant roads 🌄🏍

From there we headed towards the Heads of the Valleys Road, down towards Abergavenny and onto Pontypool Road for another fantastic stop at The Baffle Haus ☕🔥

After a regroup, we headed back towards Hereford and into HR4K to round off the official ride.

A few headed home, while several of us carried on to Chappers Motorcycle Training for their annual Bank Holiday BBQ — helping raise funds for the fantastic work done by Macmillan Nurses ❤️

Great roads.Great company.Great weather.

Days like this are what it’s all about 👊
