It’s Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), and this is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible dedication of our RAF Air Cadets volunteers and trustees.

From our adult uniformed staff to our civilian instructors, our dedicated Civilian Committees, chaplaincy, Service Instructors and all who volunteer their time, you are the heartbeat of RAFAC.

Thanks to their passion, enthusiasm, dedication and time cadets are able to develop confidence, leadership, teamwork, resilience, skills for life that get them to reach their full potential!

Great to see 124 Hereford City Squadron ATC continuing to build momentum following a successful year supporting young people across the city 👏

Their recent AGM highlighted continued growth, alongside successful fundraising events including a curry and quiz night and raffle, with funds directly supporting opportunities for local cadets.

Cadets have benefited from a wide range of experiences, from overseas camps to inter-squadron training, helping them develop leadership skills, confidence and lifelong experiences.

It’s also a reminder that every squadron is supported by its own local charity, with trustees playing a key role in turning fundraising into real opportunities for young people.

The squadron is currently welcoming interest from anyone who would like to support as a trustee or volunteer.

At the end of March, cadets and CFAV’s joined others from 1002 Ross-on-Wye, 151 Leominster, 333 Ludlow, 216 Redditch and 28 Shawbury Squadron Air cadets at the Sector 5 Multi-skills camp, Exercise Marches Horizon.
Staff also attended from 187 City of Worcester, 83(St George’s) and 24(Market Drayton) Sqn.

Cadets took part in a Bronze Radio course, Bronze First Aid, Blue Road Marching and the first Wing Blue Drone course. Cadets also completed Duke of Edinburgh Expedition training ready for their assessed expeditions.

Another fantastic weekend was had!

Cpl McColgan, Cpl Lewis and CWO Lewis represented at the Inter Wing Regional Cross Country helping them win the overall Championship back in March!

Fantastic effort and achievement and some great photos for the grid!

Last week 3 of our cadets went flying at - RAF Cosford. Thanks so much to Sgt Richardson for taking them.
