💙 Dementia Oxfordshire Summer Information Fair – Chilterns Court 💙

Today the team from Chilterns Court attended the Dementia Oxfordshire Summer Information Fair in Henley.

We had a fantastic day meeting attendees, families, and local partners, sharing information about the care and support available within our community. It was wonderful to talk about the services we offer at Chilterns Court, as well as the many community events and activities we regularly host within the home.

The event also gave us a great opportunity to connect with other local support services, helping to strengthen partnerships and collaboration across our community to better support those living with dementia and their families.

The team at Chilterns Court have been out in the community, connecting with local partners and sharing information about our Community Coffee Morning ☕

It’s been great to have some really positive conversations and highlight the support and welcoming space we offer for those in the local area.

💙 Celebrating our amazing Joanna – 13 Incredible Years at OSJCT

Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone for our Jo, who marks 13 years with OSJCT!

From arriving in England in 2013 with a nursing qualification, big dreams and a love for English history, Jo has grown from nurse to Home Manager at Chilterns Court – leading with kindness, compassion and high standards every step of the way. Her journey from Poland to Wantage is a true reminder that dreams really can come true. ✨

Thank you, Jo, for everything you do for our residents, families and teams. We’re so proud to have you as part of the OSJCT family. 💐

Today at Chilterns Court we're celebrating National Farm Day 🐑 with a wonderful visit from Basildon Farm petting zoo 🐰🐴

Residents enjoyed meeting, feeding and grooming a variety of friendly animals, creating a joyful and memorable day full of smiles.

Animal visits like these are known to support wellbeing, helping to reduce anxiety, encourage communication, and bring comfort and calm, especially for those living with dementia 🌿

🐣 Big news from the brooder! Our newly hatched ducklings are settling in beautifully — tiny paddles splashing, fresh bedding fluffed, and plenty of food to nibble on. Watching them explore their little world is pure happiness. 💛🦆

🐣 Day 3 & Day 4 at Chilterns Court – New Life Arriving! 🐣

What a truly special couple of days we’ve had here at Chilterns Court 💛

Our residents have been completely captivated as we’ve watched the magic of new life unfolding right before our eyes. Tiny cracks began to appear in the eggs, followed by the most exciting moment… our fluffy little chicks starting to hatch! 🐥

There was such a lovely buzz around the home, with everyone gathering to check on progress, sharing stories, and reminiscing about their own memories of farms, families, and springtime. The joy on everyone’s faces said it all — it’s amazing how something so small can bring so much happiness.

By Day 4, we were delighted to welcome even more chicks into the world, each one finding its feet (quite literally!) and settling into their new surroundings. Residents have loved watching them grow stronger, fluff up, and begin exploring.

Moments like these are so special — bringing nature indoors, sparking conversation, and creating shared experiences that mean so much

We can’t wait to see how our little chicks continue to grow over the coming days!

🐣 Day 2 and something is starting to HATCH! I can’t handle the excitement right now — tiny ducklings are officially on their way! Watching those little cracks appear is the cutest, most magical thing. Stay tuned… we might be meeting some fluffy babies very soon 💛🦆✨
