Holifield Camping Weekend, previously known as Holi-Day, has evolved. We are proud to have become a Social Enterprise and are looking forward to some very exciting changes. We aim to:
provide opportunity for people with special needs and learning difficulties, their carers and families to come together and get involved in environmentally friendly, camp over festivals – accessible to all. They wil
l take place on Holifield Farm, Gweek at least once a year. Local community, colleges and schools will be involved in workshops leading up to the events and a procession. We will enable community intergration by engaging across divisions of age, class, ability, disability and cultural backgrounds and provide opportunities for people with additional needs to perform, run stalls and be involved in the organizing and set up. We will provide an opportunity to increase integrated partnerships for Carers, Service Providers, artists and community groups to network and redevelop a connection – not be isolated. There will be workshops and talks relevant to these groups. Holifield Camping Weekend will be on Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th of June 2016. Activities and performances will run from Thursday 11am until Friday midnight and finishing off with a breakfast before leaving on Saturday. Holifield Camping Weekend is an annual 2 day non-profit event and camp over aimed mainly at people with additional needs and learning difficulties (of all ages), their carers and families, but all are very welcome. It is set at the beautiful 32 acre Holifield Farm in Gweek, West Cornwall . 2014 will be it’s 6th year. Holifield Farm Project is also a day care centre for people with additional needs. There is lots on over the 2 days, including a barn dance, disco, karaoke as well as many music, dance, arts and crafts workshops. Keep an eye on the programme here. There will be a campfire and camping, with an option of Glamping if required. It is a great opportunity for families and carers to network and support each other too. Each year we try and make Holifield Camping Weekend as environmentally friendly as possible, and try to provide all energy used on site from solar, wind and biodiesel and keep use of disposable plastic to a minimum. The Holifield Camping Weekend Cafe serves lovely meals, cakes and drinks at a reasonable price. We would also like to encourage both service providers and service users to network, socialise, camp over, have fun and run stalls if they wish.
