St Austell Inner Wheel -Much as we love fundraising, or club is as much about friendship as making money...& just to prove it, here are some photos taken yesterday at our tea party in President Faith's garden. A lovely opportunity to just get together & chat over a delicious tea.

Perranzabuloe Inner Wheel held a Charity Garden Party at a Mary’s beautiful home and garden. It really was a perfect day in every way, fabulous company, stunning food, fantastic friendship and support.
We raised £427.00 with our raffle, the money will be going to my chosen charities for the year, which are the following. Headland Unit at RCH Treliske, the money will go towards providing comfort boxes to patients undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted treatments in the department.
Cornwall Arthritis Trust, they provide help, guidance and support for patients suffering with the condition. It is a local charity and well worth looking looking up.

The last few weeks have been a very busy time for our ladies in the Craft Group as due to their strong commitment to Mt Edgcumbe Hospital providing craft items for sale, they were asked by Cornwall Hospice to make some of the bunting for ‘The Great Cornish Tea’ which is an official attempt by Cornwall Hospice (Mt Edgcumbe/St. Julia’s) to break the Guiness World Record for the largest cream tea party to be held on 19 September at the Royal Cornwall Showground, 12 – 4.30 p.m. Its been a hive of activity cutting green and yellow coloured material into triangular shapes for the bunting and sewing machines have been going full pelt to get the bunting finished for September. Members of the Club will be attending and supporting the attempt and, hopefully, a new record will be achieved.

One of our past members returned to Bodmin recently and friends were delighted to join her for morning coffee at the Mill Cafe, Laveddon Garden Centre in Bodmin. As can be seen in the group photo, our Club Correspondent took advantage of photographing members wearing some beautiful donated bras which the Club is collecting and delivering to 'Mish' in Wadebridge as part of our sustainability initiative. These are then recycled by 'Against Breast Charity’ through 3 main routes .

Perranzabuloe Inner Wheel meet at Perranporth Golf Club, as President, I actually did a demo on ‘Succulents”.
After the talk and demonstration, I raffled off two gifts of my succulents, one arrangement and the other, a potted succulent.
Everyone seemed to enjoy it, fingers crossed. Succulents seem to be the way to go now with our climate, I have been growing them for 28 years, I am a bit addicted.

On Wednesday Roborough Inner Wheel had their first meeting under new management in the form of Sara who will be leading the Club through their 50th year. Guest speaker was Bethany Pavelle

Representing ‘Transforming Plymouth Together’. An emotionally difficult speech to listen to and absorb especially for the born and bred Plymothians. TPT is an award winning local Christian charity uniting churches and Community groups to tackle poverty, to support local families and build resilience in Plymouth. They have 4 key initiatives

Project 58:7 Presently 5 local churches and PATH are working on a rota system taking turns supplying mattresses and bedding for 20 homeless people. Somewhere safe and warm for them to spend the night.

26for26 Campaign: Their aim is to create new foster homes for 26 local children who are in care.

Health and wellbeing. A registered nurse works with vulnerable women encouraging them to seek medical help. They offer meals for local children. TPT have set up a hub looking at the childrens teeth and supplying toothpaste and toothbrushes. There is a a place for women with complex trauma to go to called Little Sanctuary just opened. Somewhere these women can go to and feel safe.

Source and hygiene Hub: Where there are workshops to train people and where basic resources are given out.

An incredible speech from Bethany which touched all our hearts. Look them up and see if you can do something to help. They have a website and face book page. See for yourselves what is happening here in our city. The amount of poverty staggered me. Look at the statistics. Above all share with all.

St Austell Inner Wheel Ladies were privileged to be able to present a cheque to the Cove Macmillan Support centre at Treliske Hospital. The Cove was one of our President's charities for the year 2025-2026 and we were able to donate the money as a result of a year of fundraising activities both within the club and also from our public events such as the Fashion Show & the Johnny Cowling evening. Launceston Inner Wheel

For the second year running Launceston Inner Wheel entered the Flower Festival held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Launceston. This year President Helen Bailey put together a classic white and green display to celebrate 75 years of Launceston Inner Wheel Club. Our beautiful arrangement had a prime spot next to the Alter. The photos do not do justice to the arrangement and some flowers appear yellow in the photos, but were white!

There were lots of beautiful flowers and displays put together by various charities and businesses from Launceston. The festival, which ran over three days, was very well attended by local residents.
