Our headlining movie this week is Tony (15), a snapshot coming of age biopic of the world renowned chef Anthony Bourdain. With a massive 93% rating on Rotten tomatoes, an almost 8/10 rating on IMDb and many 4/5 star ratings from the mainstream press, this is a critically acclaimed snapshot of a formative time in the career of a very young Bourdain!

Boosting a very strong cast with in the lead role Dominic Sessa (Holdovers), mega star Antonio Banderas as Tony's boss/mentor, Emilia Jones (CODA) and Leo Woodall (One Day, Mad About The Boy, Tuner).

The numbers are in for our second full month of operating our wee community Cinema together.....
In August, like July, and of course thanks to the great support of the community we covered our costs!!! YES!!!!!! AMAZING START CONTINUES!!! AND THANK YOU!!!!
All of us want this to continue and the momentum to just build as we get deeper into the plans to fully open the Tower to realise its full potential. That said, we really are at the moment living from month to month! That's the nature of starting-up... so please plan your September visits to the Tower now. A couple of our important revenue building events are our two live events this month. The Big Quiz and an Afternoon with James McCracken. Here is August in numbers!
- We had 43 movie screenings/live events in August! Not too shabby and that number is only going UP!! So much cool and exciting stuff coming through! Thankfully our volunteer pool is growing to support our growing program!
- Over 1300 tickets sold for cinema and live events!!! Can we get to 1500 in September???
- Our average occupancy per movie/live event is just over 60% (60% of available tickets were sold). 60%+ is where we need to be to keep revenue covering costs!!! Please keep visiting the Tower and spreading the word to friends, family, colleagues, etc.
- We had over 1600 concession sales in August. This is a strong performance. You know that concessions are so important to the business model of a Cinema!! We price keenly, so please keep purchasing!
- This month's hits (over 70% available tickets sold) were: Bandwidth 2, Lauder, Minions & Monsters, Moana, National Theatre Live, Spider-Man & The Odyssey.
- This month's disappointing performances (less than 30% tickets sold) were: Trainspotting 30th Anniversary, Tom & Jerry Movie, The Sheep Detectives & End of Oak Street (absolutely shocked with the numbers for this one.. seen it twice and loved it!).

Right... now let's get September off to a great start!
