Handmade Parade CIC creates bold, colourful events through a unique coming-together of professional parade artists and community participation. Since the first annual parade in Hebden Bridge in 2008, we've generated a riot of stunning procession and pageant art, including giant puppets, stilt walkers, animatronics, a samba band, a parade band, masks, costumes and lanterns.

Hello! We’ve had a few enquiries about the Hebden Bridge summer parade. Short answer - there won’t be one in 2026.

BUT, in happier news, we will be partners in the first ever Happy Valley Pride parade! It’ll be smaller than our usual Hebden parade, but gorgeous things come in small packages. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Happy Valley Pride, it’s going to be FABULOUS.

Get it in your diary now - Saturday 25th July, right before The Big Day Out! More details to come, watch this space and give our friends at Happy Valley Pride a follow for details of the whole festival. The parade is just one part of the fun!

Would you like to parade with us in Milton Keynes at the Culture MK Midsummer Festival on Sunday 21st June?

Could you be part of our volunteer team for just a few hours on the day? You’ll be helping to carry artworks and possibly animating our giant puppets (do let us know if that’s something you’re especially keen to have a go at!).

Over 16 yr olds are ideal. If you know anyone younger who’d like to take part they’ll need to have an adult with them.

Spectacle and wonder are on the way to our Midsummer Festival...

Handmade Productions are bringing puppets, roaming characters and full-on spectacle to the festival parade. This is going to be bold, unexpected and a little bit wild.

Based in Hebden Bridge, their work blends craft, storytelling and performance into something you don’t just watch… you smile and join in.

Expect big characters, wonderous encounters and moments that stop you in your tracks.

We’re really looking forward to the Midsummer parade on Sun 21st June, and just need a few more friendly folk. You’ll be helping to carry artworks and possibly animating our giant puppets (do let us know if that’s something you’re especially keen to have a go at!).

Over 16 yr olds are ideal. If you know anyone younger who’d like to take part they’ll need to have an adult with them. We particularly love a family group, so come and parade together if you like. It’s always brilliant fun, you’ll definitely create a great shared memory.

🎉 FREE WORKSHOP PLACES AVAILABLE!

We’re excited to offer our lovely followers a limited number of FREE places for our Puppet and Flag Making Workshops, delivered with Handmade Productions as part of this year’s Happy Valley Pride Festival and leading up to our Decade Parade.

Workshop dates:
🗓 11 June | 6:30–9:00pm
🗓 17 June | 6:30–9:00pm
🗓 24 June | 6:30–9:00pm
🗓 5 July | 1:00–4:00pm

📍 Handmade Productions, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8LN

Places are very limited, available on a first come, first served basis, and are open to adults aged 18+ only.

☀️STEWARD CALL OUT☀️

We are looking for a stewarding team for a small Happy Valley Pride community parade on Saturday 25th July in Hebden Bridge.

If you have stewarded before and would like to join us, we’d love to hear from you. If you have never done this before but enjoy outdoor events and would like to be involved in the delivery of the parade, get in touch.

You’ll be needed on Saturday 25th July, from approx 9-12:30 (time tbc).
You also need to be available for a one hour training session on an evening during the week before the event (day and time tbc).

Stewarding duties on the day will involve:
▪ Walking with the parade
▪ Assisting with crowd management
▪ Being part of the Handmade Team
▪ Helping us to deliver a safe event
▪ Helping to take artwork back to base after the event


This role will be paid at National Minimum Wage and applicants must be 18+.
