On February 22nd Girlguiding and Girl Scouts around the world celebrated World Thinking Day - and this is a chance for us to connect with the 10 million members across the globe. And to shout about the amazing things we do! And this year, 2026, marks 100 years of World Thinking Day - so the celebrations will be continuing long after the 22nd Feb!

For example - last week our Canford Heath Thursday night Rainbows spent an evening "going around the world"; they sampled crafts and activities from Switzerland, India, Mexico and England and they had passports to stamp too, and boarding passes!! They had such a great evening learning new skills and visiting "passport control" each time they moved around the world 😁

Today is the day! Everything is ready and it will all go ahead even if it’s raining! The outside stall holders may have to move inside but everything will still be going ahead!

Be sure to visit every area….

The Hub On The Heath will be selling hot and cold drinks and sweet treats. There will also be a craft table to make Christmas Cards. So be sure to visit Carole and the gang for a lovely Hot Chocolate, Latte, Cup of Tea and cake! 🍰

Adastral Fish and Chips will be open where Chi and his staff will be waiting to serve you delicious Fish & Chips (or whatever you want from the menu!). Chi has a special offer of a cone of chips for £2!

The Pilot will be hosting some stalls, offering Christmas Cocktails and the famous Santa Band will be on the bar! 🎅🥳

The Library will be open for quiet crafts and Letters to Santa! 🎅

The Community Centre will have Stalls and Santa’s Grotto (which is fully booked).

BH17 Bar will be open serving Mulled Wine and Mince Pies. 🍷

We also have the Poole Borough Band playing Christmas Songs and also our DJ Adrian playing Christmas Tunes. 🎶

Free Face Painting with Tom’s Funky Faces.

Free Balloon Modelling with Jules The Entertainer.

Free Treasure Hunt for the Children. Pick up a form from The Hub on the Heath, The Pilot or The Community Centre with a small prize for every child who takes part.

ARCH will be running a raffle with lots of lovely prizes (just £2 per strip of 5 tickets) and also our much loved Biscuit Tombola (£1 for 5 tickets!)

Saturday Friends will be running a Jarbola and the Canford Heath Guides will be running a Childrens game. The Police will have a stall handing out leaflets.

Then at 7pm the Christmas Lights Switch On. 🎄🎄🎄

🎄🎅 Canford Heath Girlguiding will be here this evening….. inside the Community Centre, along with lots of other craft stalls, games, face painting, plenty of sweet treats and local sellers! And SANTA!

With September just around the corner and the new term fast approaching, the Rainbow, Brownie & Guide volunteer leaders have been busy working through the waiting lists offering spaces to girls to join.

Sadly, we have a number of new enquiries that will be on the waiting list for some time - simply because we need more volunteers to help run existing units and help to open new ones.

🌈 Canford Heath & Oakdale Rainbows 🌈 enjoyed a play date this afternoon at the Hideout Softplay! A lovely time was had by all and the biscuits went down very well 🍪🤩

🌷🌼 With spring in the air it makes us Guiding leaders & volunteers start to think about all the "out-doorsy" adventures that we would like to organise. Days out, trips away and unit meetings which include open fires and nature! And more often than not...SMORES! 🍪🔥
