3rd Hastings Scout Group Life Changing Adventure for Young People and Adult Volunteers! Scouts is all about fun, challenges and adventure. We are the largest mixed youth organisation.

We change lives by offering 6- to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities. Scouts helps children and young adults reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

What a weekend for the 3rd Hastings Scout Group! 🧡💜

On Saturday, 80 young people and adults took over not one, but TWO train carriages as we travelled from Hastings to Ashford for our very own sleepover at Flip Out! 🚆

⭐ An absolutely incredible trip and a brilliant adventure from start to finish.

🤸‍♀️💥 80 SCOUTS. 2 TRAIN CARRIAGES. 1 EPIC SLEEPOVER! 💥🤸‍♂️

What a weekend for the 3rd Hastings Scout Group! 🧡💜

On Saturday, 80 young people and adults took over not one, but TWO train carriages as we travelled from Hastings to Ashford for our very own sleepover at Flip Out! 🚆

After a short walk from the station, our sleepover kit arrived in style thanks to a brilliant Scout Dad who kindly loaded everything into his van and transported it to the centre. 🙌

Then it was time to BOUNCE! 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️

We spent over an hour bouncing around the trampolines, tackling inflatable assault courses, flying down MASSIVE slides and challenging each other at laser quest. There was plenty of laughter, competition and a LOT of energy! 😂💪

🍕🍔 Dinner time!
Pizza, burgers, chicken & chips — exactly what was needed after all that activity!

Then we set up our beds right next to the trampolines, got cosy and settled down for a movie before lights out. 🌙🎬

And despite the excitement… everyone slept safe and sound! 😴💤

☀️ EARLY START!
Breakfast was followed by another hour of activities — and we even had a couple of Beavers and Cubs get invested and make their Scout Promise on the trampoline! 🥹💜🧡 What a brilliant way to start their Scouting journey.

Then it was back to the station, back onto the train and home to Hastings — probably with a few tired Scouts (and leaders!) on board! 🚆😴

⭐ An absolutely incredible trip and a brilliant adventure from start to finish.

A HUGE thank you to all our amazing volunteer leaders and parent helpers who gave up their time to make this event possible. Events like this simply wouldn’t happen without you. 🧡💜

🌉 THE DA VINCI BRIDGE CHALLENGE! 🐺⚜️

Our Cubs put their skills to the test with the Da Vinci Bridge Challenge last week— building a self-supporting bridge using teamwork, careful planning and plenty of determination!

The challenge wasn’t just about building a bridge. Our Cubs had to:

🤝 Work together as a team
👂 Listen to each other’s ideas and instructions
🧠 Plan before they started building
🛠️ Develop practical problem-solving skills
💬 Communicate clearly with their team
💪 Keep trying when things didn’t quite work first time!

What a fantastic first week back for our Cubs! 🌲⛺️

It was great to be back after the summer holidays! This week we welcomed our new Cubs up from Beavers - welcome to the pack! - and we said a big goodbye to one of our Cubs who is moving up to Scouts. Good luck!

This week was all about getting outdoors and learning new skills - we built tarp shelters and pitched hiking tents like pros!

Last week’s Cubs: Professional taste testers 😋

Ice cream shops 🍦 + doughnut shop 🍩 and zero time to spare because everything was closing!

We also invested 2 new Cubs 🎉 and said goodbye to those moving up to Scouts 🥹

We survived. We had fun. And now... Winning to be announced 🏆 Who do you think won?!

And that’s a wrap for us! See you in September 👋

Woodland Tribe Evening for Cubs 🐺🌲

At last week’s Cubs our pack slowed right down and connected with nature.

We gathered in a talking circle, built an Earth offering altar with the 4 elements, made nature crowns + painted stones as gifts for the Earth, then finished with an elemental dance 🌍

Huge congratulations to Hathi who received her Scouts of the World Award - SOWA 🏆 For her project on global peace, environment + sustainability. Incredible achievement — so proud of you!

🪢 Knot tying night with the Scouts this evening!

Our Scouts put their rope skills to the test, learning and practising a range of essential knots. From the trusty Reef Knot to Figure of Eights and Bowlines, they developed practical skills that are useful for camping, pioneering, and outdoor adventures.

Great teamwork, concentration, and plenty of determination on display throughout the evening. Well done everyone! 👏

What a night at Cubs this week! 🙌

Our amazing Young Leaders took charge and ran a brilliant evening of games using different sports equipment we have. The Cubs had a blast and the teamwork was awesome 💪

We also loved hearing from the Cubs who came on the District trip 🇫🇷 They shared all their adventures - from paddle boarding 🏄‍♀️ and sandcastle building 🏰 to exploring the old town 🏘️ and even a snail meeting 🐌!

So proud of everyone for getting stuck in and sharing their stories 🥰

🚲 Wheelie Good Fun at Scouts! 🚲

Our Scouts had a fantastic evening on two wheels, learning how to ride safely and confidently while having lots of fun. They practised bike control, braking techniques, basic maintenance, safety checks, and even covered some cycling first aid.

A great night developing practical skills and building confidence—well done everyone! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

🦇 Scout Evening Bat Detecting at Balehouse 🌙✨

What a fantastic evening learning all about bats! 🦇
Our Scouts discovered some amazing bat facts, played a fun game 🎯 and headed out with bat detectors to hear these incredible creatures in action! 🎧🌌

It was brilliant to explore the outdoors, listen for bats around Balehouse in Hastings, and learn more about the wildlife right on our doorstep 🌳💚

A big thank you to Jill who joined us for such a memorable evening! 🙌
