A final farewell service for Russell Pilkington will be held at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road BB5 6HA, on Monday 24th August at 11.40 am followed by internment in the cemetery grounds. Bright clothes please to reflect Russ’s colourful personality.
We ask all military veterans and VIC members to parade for a guard of honour for Russell at 1130hrs as a mark of respect, Veterans In Communities will be parading our Standard and if other standards wish to attend that will be great. Let us all say farewell to our Brother Russel who has finished his final 'Stag'. The VIC minibus will be leaving the head office in Haslingden at 1100hrs for those that need.

A Simple Donation Could Change a Veteran's Life

We're currently seeking two or three mobility scooters to support veterans throughout Lancashire and the surrounding areas.

Many veterans struggle with mobility and independence, and a donated scooter can make a world of difference.

We are grateful for all offers of support, however scooters must be in fully serviceable condition. Sadly, we cannot accept scooters that are broken or require maintenance.

If you have a mobility scooter that is no longer being used, please consider donating it to help a veteran regain their freedom and confidence.

Together, we can make a real difference.

Please contact us if you can help.

It was a great Friday at Veterans In Communities Accrington Drop-in and we were joined by a contingent from the Corps of the Royal Engineers and a number of Guardsmen. As you can imagine the banter was fierce and the brews were hot (Even cake and biscuits) and everyone had the mick taken out of them, happy Gentlemen of the Corp.

🤝 Working Together to Support the Armed Forces Community

Our friends at Mission Motorsport have released their August Newsletter, packed with updates on the fantastic work they're doing to support veterans and service leavers through motorsport and community engagement.

This month's edition includes news about their new Mission Motorsport Supporter Programme, visits to the Nürburgring and Prodrive, the Mission Motorsport Racemakers at the British Grand Prix, upcoming events, volunteering opportunities, and plenty of ways to get involved.

As organisations working towards the shared goal of supporting the Armed Forces community, we're pleased to help spread the word and encourage our followers to take a look.

The Veterans In Communities Coffee Morning and Quiz, held every Tuesday at Trinity Methodist Church in Clitheroe town centre from 10:00 to 12:00 hours, convened for another successful meeting. A bespoke quiz was crafted and presented by one of our Engineer veterans, while a Royal Navy WREN veteran shared her heartfelt sentiments on the significance of VIC.
