What an incredible, busy, and emotional weekend we’ve just had hosting two days of heart screenings in loving memory of Tom ❤️
We are so proud to share that we screened 191 young people and raised a further £390 over the two days!
Here is a little look back at the weekend:
Saturday: Tendring All Stars ⚽
It was brilliant to see Charlie Mann, the chief organiser of last year’s big event, drop by to support us. Saturday was all about community and keeping Tom’s legacy alive.
Sunday: Dedicated to Cllr Bill Davidson 🎖️
Sunday’s session was held in honour of the Chairman of Tendring District Council , Cllr Bill Davidson. Bill chose us as one of his charities of the year, and it is thanks to his hard work and fundraising that we were able to put this screening day on. Bill, we can’t thank you enough for your support.
A huge thank you to the teams who joined us!
We were joined by several local football teams, as well as players from the Essex Rebels Basketball in Colchester. Seeing athletes take their heart health seriously is exactly why we do this.
A note on attendance... While the weekend was a success, we did unfortunately have a high number of "no-shows." Luckily, we were able to fill these spaces using our reserve list, but it’s a reminder of how vital these slots are. Every appointment is a potential life saved—please, if you book a slot in the future, make sure you use it!
Finally, a massive thank you to the clinical team from Cardiac Risk in the Young. You guys are absolute pros and work so hard. And to everyone who donated or helped out you are the reason we can keep doing this for our community.
