£200,000 AVAILABLE TO IMPROVE HARTLEPOOL'S COMMUNITY SPACES!

The first Pride in Place Open Call for Proposals launches today, with up to £200,000 of capital funding available to help improve parks, public spaces and community facilities across Hartlepool.

This first round focuses on two priorities:

Activating Parks, Public Spaces & Beaches – Making better use of our outdoor spaces and creating more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable places for local people.

Community Assets & Neighbourhood Spaces – Improving the places and facilities that bring our communities together.

Our parks, beaches and community spaces matter to local people. They're places to play, move, connect, socialise and spend time together.

This is an opportunity for local organisations and community groups to help shape and improve these spaces for the future.

Would you like to build your confidence, wellbeing and self-awareness, meet new people and explore what you might like to do next?
Our relaxed and supportive Growing Forward programme includes nature-based activities, mindfulness, simple wellbeing techniques, group discussions and practical activities.

Starts Thursday 29 October and every Thursday for 8 weeks.

Everyone completing the programme will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

We are recruiting a youth worker 9 hours per week to cover youth work sessions between the hours of 3-6pm with potential for more hours during school holidays

Certificates that could benefit the job:
First aid - DBS- Safeguarding- Youth Work level 2 or 3- Relevant children or young people courses

Food hygiene - as we cook the children tea could be a benefit if not can be provided

This work could also lead onto working in our 11-19 year old session

📍Hartlepool Borough Council is inviting offers for Hartlepool Enterprise Centre (HEC) in Brougham Terrace, which is home to 47 business units offering a mix of office and workshop accommodation for start-ups and small businesses.

ℹ️ The Council is seeking to sell the centre as a going concern with a condition that it continues to operate as a business centre, protecting its key role in supporting Hartlepool’s business community.

ℹ️ The three-storey Victorian former school also has two detached ancillary blocks, a 51-space car park, meeting rooms which are available for hire, and a well-equipped kitchen serving a café with more than 20 covers.

ℹ️ There has been significant investment in the centre in recent years, including a comprehensive refurbishment that involved the creation of a large glazed entrance atrium, and the installation of 30 rooftop solar panels.

🗣️ Councillor Rob Darby, Chair of the Council’s Housing, Growth and Communities Committee, said: “Hartlepool Enterprise Centre has an important role in providing flexible and accessible premises where new and small businesses can establish themselves and grow.

🗣️ “We’re now looking for a buyer who recognises the potential of the centre and can build on what has already been achieved, while ensuring it continues to serve Hartlepool’s business community.

We are pleased to share an exciting new opportunity available through The Junction Multibank.

Hartlepool Borough Council are a partner in the Tees Valley Multibank and wanted to share this opportunity with you as someone delivering valuable services and could benefit from access to free LEGO resources.

As part of LEGO's support for the Multibank network, we have been provided with a quantity of LEGO sets that we would like to distribute to organisations and groups creating positive opportunities for children, young people and families across our communities.

The LEGO sets will be:

-donated to organisations for group use, not to individuals for use in individual homes;
-donated for use in communal spaces eg schools, community centres, waiting rooms and other group settings;
-targeted at children who are 4-13 years old.

Each single allocation of LEGO will contain 2 kg of bricks, around 1300-1500 pieces, enough for about 6 children to play together at the same time.

Hartlepool Community Hubs will act as the designated distribution point for those successful in being selected to receive the LEGO resources.

We see this as a fantastic opportunity to place valuable resources into community settings where they can be enjoyed by many children and young people, helping to enhance play, learning, creativity and social connection.

At this stage, Multibank is seeking expressions of interest to understand demand across the Tees Valley and inform distribution planning.
