🎉 What a fantastic start to National Carers Week! 🎉

On Monday, Pool Together was delighted to host our National Carers Week Pool Together event at Hartlepool College of Further Education , bringing together carers, local organisations, and community partners to celebrate, connect, and showcase the support available across our area.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and helped make the event such a success. It was wonderful to see so many people engaging with services, sharing experiences, and building new connections.

Huge thanks to the the Dutch Garden Centre in Hartlepool for sharing their amazing Olive Tree with us at the Pool Together /Carers event
Used to tie pledges of help to, it was a fantastic focal point for promises of kindness

DEMENTIA ACTION WEEK 2026

It was wonderful to see local author Michael Booth at The Salaam Community Centre during Dementia Action Week 2026 as part of his Hartlepool book tour for Forget Me Not: The Letter in the Headboard.

Lesley-Anne from Pool Together enjoyed catching up with Michael and hearing more about the inspiration behind his powerful and thought-provoking novel, which shines a light on dementia, memory, and the importance of human connection.

The event brought together members of the community, local organisations, and supporters to help raise awareness and encourage important conversations around dementia.

Michael’s book Forget Me Not: The Letter in the Headboard is available now on Amazon.

POOLS ARE GOING TO WEMBLEY!!!

Well done to Sacred Heart Primary School Under 11s Girls Football Team - representing Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation - who have made it to the FINAL of the The National League Trust Primary Schools Cup!

The girls will play at Wembley Stadium connected by EE (no less!) on Sunday, 10th May - the day of the National League Play-Off Final.

A massive acheivement for the girls, their school, Hartlepool United FC and the town!

This is the wonderful Sara who spent several hours yesterday morning clearing the litter and freshening up the entrance to Whin Meadows with the help of CleanupUK Hartlepool Big Town Tidy Up

There are lots more chances to join in with Sara and others to make a difference in your community!!

Over at Burn Valley Gardens, neighbours were clearing and planting in community spaces, as well as kids and volunteers enjoying the sunshine with Play Out Hartlepool and Hartlepool Sixth Form College

Let's keep this positive community action going in our great town!

Tomorrow sees another two areas of Hartlepool joining in to help neighbours and partners!

The fabulous Whin Meadows residents are having a litter pick to brighten up the entrance to their area, with support from Hartlepool Big Town Tidy Up and CleanupUK

At the same time, Burn Valley will see all sorts of activities for schools, led by Play Out Hartlepool and Hartlepool Sixth Form College

Local residents in those areas will also be creating new planting beds for neighbours to enjoy and share, kindly supported by Hartlepool Borough Council
